I enjoyed the tour and enjoyed meeting Carl Smith who took me around the property. Being new to camping, I feel that it might be premature to purchase a membership at this time. I'd like consider a membership in the near future.

Dan was a great tour guide and sales person. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer guy. Friendly and professional. Edit: now that we’ve moved on… this is a timeshare nightmare. The campground isn’t terrible but it certainly isn’t what we were looking for. Sand and some gravel for roads. Super nice staff trying hard to make things as nice as possible. VERY OLD infrastructure. Should have been torn down and replaced a long time ago. The sales group touts future improvements but if you look at older reviews, the needed changes have been called out for years. Back to the timeshare sales pitch. You will have a few minutes to make a $15,000 decision. Take it now or lose it. Hilarious sales tactics. Dustin was nice until we said we need time to think it over. He was incensed and rude. “We have people beating down our doors for this deal!” I really doubt it Dustin. Beware if you get an invite for free nights. We felt a little dirty after the sales pitch. Glad we were leaving the next day…

Extremely Disappointed with Styx River RV Resort in AL Our sweet friends invited us on a camping trip and were kind enough to book a campsite for us at Styx River RV Resort in Alabama — a full month ago. Everything was confirmed and good to go… or so we thought. Fast forward to just one week before the trip, and we get an email from the resort asking for photos of our RV. One month after the reservation was made! Why does the appearance of our RV matter at a campsite? Isn’t camping about enjoying the outdoors — not about judging people’s vehicles? We reluctantly sent in photos, assuming it was a routine check. To our shock, they rejected our reservation — based solely on the look of our RV. The trip is one week away, and now we’re left scrambling. Not only is this unacceptable customer service, it reeks of discrimination and poor judgment. They had one job — honor a confirmed reservation or at least review everything up front. Instead, they waited until the last minute to deny us, with no regard for the disruption and disappointment it caused. Honestly, they may have saved us from spending our hard-earned money at a place that clearly doesn't value all campers equally. But still — do better. Hire competent people to manage bookings and stop judging guests by what they drive.

My sister is a member and reserved a cabin in June for my birthday, which was fun. We hiked/ walked around the property, down the river walk to the river. Then my daughter and youngest 2 grandbabies came out and we played in the pool. The people that work there are friendly and helpful. We enjoy playing pool or other games in the clubhouse. They have covered dish supers some evenings for campers as well as other activities. They also have a small inside pool you can relax in.

It's not every day you run into a group of people that make you feel like family right off the bat. I highly recommend visiting this location. Because it's so close to so many great things,That you can do with your family. You definitely will not regret it.

It's close camping in a camper or RVs. Gravel pads. I'm not sure if you have to have a membership or not. We stayed as guest doing a tour. We really enjoyed it. You can tell there's places that needs some updates but all all we will be coming back.

Fantastic place to take friends and family. There’s plenty of activities daily, and a river to kill time at. When the part is full, our camper receives low volts.

This is the 3rd OCP we have visited with our membership. The things we were looking forward to: indoor pool, Putt putt, the river. What let us down: indoor pool was broken. (Not there fault, but according to another member it has been down for awhile). The putt putt is a joke. Not maintained at all. The river was extremely difficult to get down to and there was a tractor doing a bunch of dirt moving for 3 of the 6 days we were there. So it rained and became a MUD PIT and we couldn't get to the river at all after that. For out of staters hoping to find their next favorite park, we were definitely let down. I understand things break, I understand maintenance but for so many "attractions" of the park to be down at the same time?? It was disappointing to say the least.

Super friendly staff and guests. We did not buy into the program but the staff was just as friendly as if we did. Not pressure sales. Super nice people.
