Great campground! A lot of amenities that our kids enjoyed- sports equipment to check out, a pool, basketball court, etc. Hookups were easy and the long-term campers were very friendly. Camp site was pretty level. Easy access to nearby activities - went and did the iron mine tour and that was super fun! 100% would stay again!

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! We considered ourselves extremely lucky to log on just as a campsite opened up for Friday and Saturday nights this past weekend during the Iron Mountain Gus Macker. I informed the woman that we also run a small business, and we were going to try our best to leave early so we could get there at a decent time. However, with our own customers running late, and a rain storm that severely slowed down our packing process, we definitely left later then we had hoped. We stopped in Escanaba to get dinner, spoke to the woman at the campground letting her know we were just grabbing dinner and running into Walmart for a few of the staples we had forgotten. Her exact words were, "Okay, not a problem, we will see you when you get here." We spent 20 mins in Walmart (not exaggerating, as they closed when we were checking out) and shortly after, she called again to see how far away we were. GPS said 43 minutes. Again she replied with,"Alright, we look forward to meeting you." At this point, I was honestly impresed, they seemed very accommodating. As we pulled into the campground at 10:30, we saw multiple groups hanging around their fires, walking around, it by no means was a "lights out-everyone's sleeping" situation. However. We pulled up to the check in cabin and a gentleman came flying out, waving around his flashlight, telling us to stop where we were. I said we had reservations and his reply was, "I'm aware, However, I'm not taking you back to your site, it's too dark now, so you'll have to park here for the night. I'm talking about right in the middle of the road, where there's constant traffic, no power or water hookups, and absolutely ZERO privacy. Mind you, our site was located at the end of a row. He then informed me that a vehicle was blocking the entrance to our site anyway. I stated, we paid for the site, even paid an extra asinine $15 simply to hold the site (... Pretty sure that is what's supposed to happen when you reserve a site anyway) and that that person can move their vehicle. He replied with, "You are not entitled to tell anyone what they can do, you made us wait 2 extra hours, with no contact so if you want to stay here, you're staying right where you are. At the entrance/checkin station." Now I will say, the woman behind the desk seemed absolutely dumbfounded and bewildered. When I said fine, we will take back our full refund and find someplace else to go - They would not give back the holding fee. And now, at this point, it's 11pm, we have two small children who just sat in a truck for over 2 and a half hours on the drive, and simply wanted to go bed. So we had to sit for another 20 minutes trying to find some place to go... Meanwhile, the owners left the office, with a sign on the door saying, "Please come in! We're open!" We called around, either got a "We're booked for the night" or no answer at all. Which was totally expected by that time. However, we have contacted camp grounds before, let them know we were getting in late, and without even paying upfront, they told us the campsite number and let us pay and check in the next morning - absolutely no problem. Attached is the email where is says nothing about checking in by a certain time. If it was that big of an issue, they certainly could have told us that during our phone conversations. And then an angel at the Comfort Inn Iron Mountain answered our call. She got us a room and made check in a breeze, even gave us a discount because she felt bad for the issues we had to deal with. Knowing we would have to wake up early, hopefully find a campsite available for Saturday night, set up and disconnect, and make it to the girls games. I always try to find a silver lining in any situation. As small businesses, I feel like people tend to forget about posting positive reviews and only leave negative ones. This is the first negative one I've ever left. I feel like people should know how we were treated, left stranded with two littles and obviously not many options, when we had already paid for it site and paid extra even! Beyond disgusted!

We have stayed at Summer Breeze Campground several times this year . Absolutely love it here ! Quiet , beautiful , well kept , close enough to town , and with the nice playground, pool, and ice cream social it’s great for kids too! Wonderful memories made around the campfire , which is always a highlight of our camping stays ! We would definitely recommend this place !

What a gem of a find! Highly recommend! Peaceful, extremely well maintained, wonderful hospitality! As an added bonus - the WIFI works great too! For anyone planning day trips to Pictured Rocks, Lake Superior, and more - this campground is centrally located and makes a fantastic home base. Thank you for a great stay Summer Breeze!

We stayed in a 5th wheel for 5 nights. The sites were good. Bathrooms were clean. Laundry facility was good. Inexpensive price to do laundry which was really nice. The only thing we didn't like about our site was the neighbors who had to burn their campfires. The smoke came into our RV, we couldn't keep our windows open. Then another RV came in on the other side and needed to try to get us high from their pot smoke. That was no better than the wood smoke. Next time I want the end site.

Cannot recommend this campground enough! Was here for most of the summer from June-September and greatly enjoyed my stay. I have been traveling full time in my RV for 2.5 years, and this has easily been one of my favorite campgrounds I have stayed. The owners are incredibly kind, sites are spacious, laundry and pool onsite were an added bonus. My site even had two trees i could hang my hammock from which i greatly enjoyed on my days off. Plenty of attractions/hiking/places to see nearby and a 10-15 minute drive into town for groceries, restaurants, etc. If my travels bring me back to iron mountain, I’ll be returning :)

Fabulous family friendly, family owned campground. Super clean bathrooms and showers, laundry and capstone on site. Look forward to visiting during warmer months when the pool would be open! Large portion of the sites are pull thru, many with full hookups too! If you're visiting over a weekend, be sure to check out the ice cream social at the pavilion on Saturday evening!

We were in site 55 at this lovely campground. It is a large, roomy, semi shaded site and we felt it was very pretty with all the greenery around. Wish we had chosen to stay longer. FHU and all worked well. We also enjoyed the hiking trail. We would definitely stay again.

Great campground at a very affordable price!!! The swimming pool was great! My kids spent most of the time in it. Large camp sites I had site 1 no problem at all for rig 46' long. Had a nice chat with a gentleman by the pool. it turns out he is the owner. I was very surprised to find out the campground is family run with a 3 person team! Beautiful and well maintained. We will definitely stop back while in the area. Thanks for a great experience!!

Great private campground. The spots are spacious and you’re not on top of your neighbor like a lot of private campground. The amenities are nice with plenty of washers and dryers. The kids enjoyed the playground and the tether ball. Worth noting this is in the central time zone if you’re coming from the east. We ended up there at 11am instead of the planned noon, but the hosts checked us in anyways.
