Summer House Park
Overview
Summer House Park provides a scenic waterfront retreat on the shores of Miller Lake, nestled in the heart of Ontario's beautiful Bruce Peninsula. As a family-operated resort with a legacy of providing high-quality camping, the park offers a perfect blend of natural immersion and modern convenience. The atmosphere is peaceful and well-maintained, ensuring that every RVer can enjoy the serenity of the surrounding forest and lakefront during their stay.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Miller Lake, ON, the park is centrally located between the popular hubs of Tobermory and Lion's Head. The property is defined by dense hardwood forests and rugged limestone features characteristic of the Niagara Escarpment. Because Miller Lake is an inland body of water, it offers a prime location for water-based recreation like swimming and paddling in waters that are notably warmer and calmer than the nearby open Great Lakes.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is designed to cater to a variety of travelers, offering full-hookup and pull-through sites that accommodate larger rigs with ease. Guests have access to excellent facilities, including:
- Clean, modern washrooms and hot shower facilities.
- A well-stocked guest store and an on-site cafe for convenience.
- Comprehensive boat rental services including canoes, kayaks, and motorboats.
- A sandy beach area and organized recreational courts for daily activities.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
The park's location makes it a perfect basecamp for exploring Bruce Peninsula National Park, where visitors can hike to the Grotto or Indian Head Cove. For those interested in maritime history, the nearby village of Tobermory serves as the gateway to Fathom Five National Marine Park, famous for its shipwrecks and Flowerpot Island. Hikers will also appreciate direct access to the Bruce Trail, which offers stunning cliffside views of Georgian Bay.
Who This Park Is Best For
Summer House Park is an ideal destination for family vacationers who appreciate a structured environment with diverse activities for all ages. It is also a top choice for nature enthusiasts and hikers who want to be close to world-class trails while returning to a comfortable, well-equipped campsite. This place was absolutely GORGEOUS! My kids and I LOVED it here. Great family friendly campground. Lots of family activities. Lake was fabulous. You are able to canoe and kayak. Friendly staff. I recommend this place to anyone. Bathrooms were the cleanest I have EVER seen at a campground before. Only thing I’d say is some of the sites (that we had) are quite small and not very private. But other than that, this place is truly amazing and we will be sure to return!

We just had a fabulous trip - we stayed in a cottage and it was lovely and had everything you’d need, including a blissful private deck. The park has lots of kid friendly activities, and it’s so nice having a cafe and camp store so close by. The lake is perfect and we heard loons singing every morning.

We went on the busiest weekend in summer, August long weekend. Sarah at the front desk was fabulous and was able to book us short notice and made our stay possible. Camp spots are very flat and relatively easy to navigate although not heavily private sites. Still nice. Great spot for kids and families as they had the water float park as well. As with any family park expect to hear people. Having the restaurant and the giftshop was nice in case you forgot things or souvenirs. Overall good experience. Very well organized and established camp ground.

I recently brought 2 of my grandchildren here for a mini-vacation. I have been camping in private and public campgrounds all over N. America for over 50 years. It is the best kept campground I have stayed in so far. The grounds are a great mix of natural forest, lovely flower beds and recreational areas. Our camping cabin was cute, clean and comfortable. Shared washrooms are cleaned regularly. Staff are friendly and helpful. The park is exceptionally kid-friendly, with lots of activities and safety a primary concern. Pizza is great. (We did not try the breakfast place yet). A relatively short drive to Tobermory. I highly recommend this park for families who wish to relax in place and also explore the beautiful Tobermory area.

We just got back from another great long weekend at Summer House Park —a spot we visit every year! The kids had a blast on the water inflatables at the lake, and our campsite was peaceful and well-kept. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the pizza was a hit as always. It's a perfect family- and pet-friendly campground, and we’ll definitely be back again. Not a far drive from Tobermory where we always enjoy spending time there shopping, trying out the restaurants, and taking in the boat tours. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing getaway!
