Just returned home after spending 4 nights. No complaints with our camp site at all. Beautiful view. I am giving 3 stars for 2 reasons….. the campground closes their gates at 10:00pm. Quiet time begins at 10:00pm. 1. I had an emergency situation after 10:00 and was unable to get out of the gate nor was there an emergency number to contact anyone to let me out of the gate. 2. You receive a list of rules upon arrival. Again, with one of them being 10:00pm is quiet time. 2 of the 4 nights we were there, kids were riding bikes screaming and yelling throughout the campground. If you set rules, then ALL should be enforced, not just the here and there rules. For the money you pay for a camping spot, and the pamphlet of rules you receive then DO BETTER

Been coming here for over 15 years always great family fun. 2025 honestly doesn't look like anything has changed, which is a good thing love it here crystal clear water

Beautiful views and friendly staff.. Unfortunately, they do not take their rules seriously. We got bombarded on both sides of our GRAVEL spacing with cars from the camps beside us, parking all over the grass that's supposed to separate the campsites. Neighbor @ 043 had massive RV, three vehicles (1 parked right next to OUR campfire ring), and a dog... They also rudely parked their boat right in front of our campsite (042) right where we had been able to access the water, making it an inconvenience that was purposefully booked for the water access. Do better with managing these things so everyone can have a pleasant experience, please.. I drove 4+ hours for this.

This is a great campground with lake access. Not all sites have a water view but if you book in advance you can get one. There are many sites with a water view. The rates are great. We kayaked from our site and absolutely enjoyed all it had to offer!

One of our favorite places to put in at the lake. This is a look at it during winter while the lake is drained. Amazing how deep this lake lake actually is!

Went with my son's friend's family. Popped a tent up next to their RV, and had a blast. The camp is right on the lake, and we spent the week cliff diving and tubing and swimming and had a blast. Little biking and hiking too. The camp is imho a little crowded, but then again, I'm more used to tent camping instead of GLAMPING, so maybe that's the norm. Other than that, well maintained, family oriented place. Cleanest bathrooms and best showers than most camps I've been to. Highly recommended.

Easy access. Just have to know to turn at the Recreational area sign. Some sites are pull through, some back in. Fill up your water tank before you turn in to the camp ground. Staff are helpful. We use it as a stop over when traveling south. Price is great.

Who would want to stay at a camp with no dogs?

We were planning to stay at the free campground a few miles back but little did we know we were arriving at the start of Gauley season so the water in the lake went down a bit each day (they release the water for the rafting). We lucked out and got an amazing spot right on the lake with an almost 360 water view. The park was busy on the weekends and about 1/3 full during the week. We stayed in September 2017 and would stay again, for as long as the park allows. Water and electric at the site, nice dump station. Great cell service (AT&T and verizon) and nice interior roads. Some trees need trimmed and they have pull thrus that are more parallel parking, not exactly big rig friendly.
