We stopped here in our motor home for a one night stay en route to NC. The campground is perfectly located right off of Rt 19 and near many stores. The grounds are immaculately kept. We were greeted by a person on a golf cart who led us to our site. We chose the large pull through site, which afforded a beautiful view of the forest and the lake. There was a nearby playground. Later on the day that we checked in a person came by asking if we needed firewood or ice. They also have a huge dog run, probably the biggest I've ever seen. There was also a smaller dog run, which would have suited our smaller dog better but it was closed at the time. The larger run had a big gap under the gate, which my dog was able to crawl under so beware with smaller dogs. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent place. Very accommodating for everything. Shower area is very clean. Place is a picture perfect. Light house was great. I had problem with garden hose, they helped me to put their for 2 days to return. They had good deal black and gray water removal. Ewr enjoyed playing games and spending 2 nights. Definitely worth staying. We stayed with RV, rarely used RV bathroom.

David was a fantastic host!! His place was spotless and beautifully maintained! His hospitality truly stood out. Bill, the camp host, was also incredibly warm and friendly. We’d absolutely camp here again. The location is perfect, just a short drive to a great swimming spot where the whole family can enjoy the water and take in the stunning scenery.

We just wrapped up a wonderful two-night stay on our way to outer banks at Summersville Lake Campground, and we can't recommend it enough! We splurged on a premium spot, and the view was absolutely wonderful, offering breathtaking scenery that made our mornings and evenings truly special. From the moment we arrived, the owners were extremely nice and helpful, making us feel right at home. The facilities are great, clean, well-maintained, and everything you need for a comfortable camping experience. One of the highlights of our trip was renting a pontoon boat from the campground for a day on Summersville Lake. It was fantastic! The rental process was seamless, and the owners were extremely helpful every step of the way, ensuring we had everything we needed for a fun and safe day on the water. We're already planning our return trip! Summersville Lake Campground offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, excellent amenities, and top-notch service. Whether you're looking to relax by the lake or enjoy some water activities, this campground is an absolute gem.

Extremely friendly staff from arrival to departure. Sites were roomy, but not overly "country style" camping, if that is what you're used to. Prompt to respond to a request immediately (grease spilled from previous camper that would've been tracked into our camper by our children) and staff came immediately to remedy. Weren't annoyed or anything. One very important area to mention is how clean the hose water was.

Summersville Lake Retreat Campground was phenomenal! The owners were so nice, facilities incredibly clean and well kept. My children (2.5 and 4 years) absolutely loved the playground and space to run (and roll down the hill). The dog park was outfitted with water and toys for the dogs, as well as plenty of room to run. The views are spectacular! My family all agreed we’d happily return! The full hook up campsites are spacious and well equipped with beautiful fire pits and two chairs. We enjoyed some hiking (Long Point Trail) and being tourists at the New River Gorge Bridge. It was a wonderful weekend away, and we will absolutely return to camp here again!

Great place for dogs, cleanest bath house I have seen in a long time. Nice sites. Good view of lake.

This was such a gem! Beautiful, wide-open spots, friendly staff members, and great amenities. The park itself was beautiful and a joy to walk around. Also had a HUGE dog park (biggest we've ever seen at an RV park), which was such a blessing for our two pups and a lot of incredible hikes near by. We stayed for a week and would highly recommend it! We'll be back.
