Had a wonderful time with the kiddos and good friends. They have a lot to offer as far as your camping choices. However they have multiple peers to fish from swimming pools, miniature golf kids play area and much more. They can get a little crowded but but everybody seems to mind their P’s and Q’s. All in all it’s a good wholesome time with the family friends and whoever you choose to join you. My only issue is you make your reservations online and nobody ever seems to answer the phone. If you want to rent a golf cart after the fact, good luck! Other than retail workers at the bait shop or general store, you can never really find anybody to answer questions not to mention check-in is at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and it takes you about an hour just to check in because there’s nobody really working.

Nice large campground with good clean bathrooms. Being right on the water was great for sunsets. The site we stayed at was great in the office season (Sept) but I bet it gets really busy with all the amenities they have. I would say it's walkable, but a bike/golf cart is best.

Not up to a sun outdoors standards. Stayed at the sun outdoors cherrystone from September 14 through September 21, 2025. Paid for a premium site by the water. We had a beautiful waterfront site right by a pier. Bath houses were clean, employees were generally friendly. It was the off-season so the campground was slow and very quiet. My biggest complaint is the office assistance helpline and the maintenance department. We had a big storm on the 23rd with strong surges coming over into the campsites, you can’t stop mother nature. However, maintenance never came to clean up all the sea grass and debris washed up into our campsite even though a few of us called to tell them, we needed service. The flies and gnats attracted to the debris was overwhelming, and the smell of the dying plants was horrible. The road in front of our camper was washed out and we had to back out of our pull through spots when leaving. No maintenance ever showed up to even look. Very disappointing.

This campground is amazing! We loved all the amenities it offers and the location was great. The kids had plenty of things to keep them entertained and wear them out at the same time. The bath house we were near was kept clean and luckily was never overcrowded our entire stay. Highly recommend going here! We can't wait to go back!

We were pleasantly surprised by how clean, organized, and nice this campground was. The people were all polite and friendly, lights out at 9pm and it was monitored and very quiet. We loved that there was a shuttle to take you to Cape Charles and lots of activities onsite. It definitely is a packed in campground, some spots I wasn’t sure how people managed to get in. The dog beach and dog parks are so convenient. The cafe has decent food and the general store is a nice add. We look forward to coming back!

I have been coming to this campground for 10 years and it was great....I even came during covid ....still great...I just came back today I could not stay my last night...On arrival at 2:47pm. I was told I could not check in until 3pm....ok fine....at 2:55 I walked back in and they were checking someone else in..really?.....there was NO ice they ripped out ice boxes...you have to get ice at the auto ice across from food lion down the road...ok fine... Bathrooms are clean....Yes... They packed in many cabins now ..hardy enough space to park...I wouldn't want to be there when it's full..good luck summer campers...at 8am they start mowing (both days) if your lucky, your already woken by the dogs barking crazy at 7am...and it's not as friendly as it once was ...so sad I'm done there. 😭

What a nice campground! We were here on the off season, but still enjoyed it. The view is awesome! (Rent a premium site. You won't be disappointed!) Will definitely be back next year with the grand kiddos!

I deliver my RV here all the time for Outdoorsy and about 50% of the time they let me through with no problem and the other 50% of the time they give me so much grief just to deliver, saying I need a pass or an escort and sometimes they want to call the actual renter to verify. I get all this trouble even if I show them the reservation on Outdoorsy, which has the name of the renter and the spot. It's a headache. It would be nice if your Cherrystone team made it easier for Outdoorsy renters to just come in and deliver without a hassle. All the other camp grounds around here have no problem with deliveries. Oh, and it's the same hassle on pickup day. On the other hand, I love being a guest at this park. It's a lot of family fun and a good time.

It's always good to be in Cherrystone. Just got back from a almost two week stay, keeps getting better and better. It was great to see that the pools, cafe and store were still open. THANKS again for a great time. See you soon.
