Sun Outdoors Orange Beach

Sun Outdoors Orange Beach is part of a chain of master planned resorts with premium amenities for short term or extended, stays for families and snowbirds. The on-site restaurant had a nice selection and the food was well prepared. Two family pools, one adult pool and a splash pad for the children. The team here is friendly, courteous, cheerful, and willing to help. Unique to campgrounds, sun outdoor outdoors orange Beach offers a dog wash station. Some sites have a dog pen for you to keep your furry friend in check. The bath houses have individual stalls for your privacy and protection. Clean and new fixtures. 50 and 30 amp service is clean and consistent. The water pressure is appropriate. The lake is loaded with fish. The one thing you may experience here would be that there does not seem to be a sense of community. Whenever you have a large resort like this, there is a lot of concrete. Campers check in and out constantly. The sites next to us changed campers 2x in the 6 days we were there. While there are plenty of family friendly amenities, there is less of a family atmosphere feeling here. It feels more corporate run as an upscale RV resort. And with that comes a lot of rules. Most of the rules there are to keep the campground, clean, orderly, and free of one star campers. I agree with all of them! Take your own trash to the dumpster!! The one rule that I find comical is the 5 1/2 mph speed limit. In my six days there I saw not one driver obey the limit. You’ll get some ugly looks from the folks behind you when you drive 5 1/2 mph. So be it. I’m a rule follower. We like this location better than the Sun Outdoors in Islamorada as the sites here are not on top of each other like they are in the keys. We love the place and will be back again and again. Highly recommended

Great location next to the state park and couple miles from the beaches. Staff was friendly and polite but maintenance staff seemed understaffed and pools could be maintained/cleaned better. Also was disappointed they didn't have pool chillers. We stayed for a month in July and pool water was warm and not refreshing.

Great campground. My 3 star review comes from to many entitled kids riding around, hauling ass in front of you while trying to leave or driving to the bathhouse. We had a guy come up to us that claimed to he the head guy and told us to call the emergency number if we needed anything. We called because our fire pit wouldn't work. He said he would send someone out the next day. We never saw anyone the last 3 days we were there.

Such a nice park. The sites are spacious with concrete pads and lots of lush grass. Picnic table and two Adirondack chairs for each site made of composite, no weathering or splinters! Fire pit with propane tanks supplied. Large pool for lap swimming as well as a kids play area in the pool. Staff was very friendly. Beautiful resort, we will return!!

Amazing is how we describe this RV Resort! Spacious sites with propane fire pits at the sites and around the facility. 2 beautiful pools, a spa, clubhouses and bar and restaurant. So many activities for both kids and adults. So much to do in the area and the beach is only a couple of miles away. You cannot go wrong here!

After the nearby state park messed my overnight reservation up, and then had no available spaces, we happened on this park. It is the most expensive park we've stayed at, but the amenities are fantastic. Serene, quiet and clean, we really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub after a long day of driving. Within minutes of the beaches, shopping, and restaurants we really enjoyed our stay.

Very clean, spacious & quiet BUT good grief at a $111per night + “resort” tax= $125 (per night) in winter/February (2022) in Alabama??? (10 miles from the beach) 🤦♀️🤷🏼♀️😩 We’ve been traveling all of the US for 8 yrs now and there is NOTHING at/near/around the place worth that price!!! I paid less on the beach in The Keys with a private beach, full bar and happy hour everyday! But hey….the concert RV pads are level & bathroom is clean 🤷🏼♀️🙄 Oh and did I mention “Time Share” Yep it’s a “Time Share RV Resort” NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT BUT THAT WILL COST YOU up

A very nice start to a “resort” and “luxury” campground. Currently an addition is ongoing on the south end but unsure what that entails. Very clean well managed all paved CG with level sites & patio’s. All the basics amenities here with sand volleyball area, pickle ball, tennis, & Horseshoes along with a nice fenced in dog park. Clean, well maintained laundry, bath, showers & two pools. (Adult & Family). Well spaced out grassy green space with young trees between sites. My favorite amenity is currently unavailable due to the construction but that is a natural “level” “multi-trail” trail system leading to the paved Gulf State Park trail system. For a walk, run or bike and they are quite a few miles combined. I typically would do 10-12 miles daily and the natural areas were very refreshing and not at all crowded, some days & times I was completely alone. Excellent campground!

Only 2 stars because the facility and grounds are nice. Whoever is in charge of staffing needs to evaluate their employees/volunteers. I won’t be going back even if the”fake” nice response asks to come back. Staff was rude and and wanted to enforce “Adult Swim only” pool rules (even though teenagers had been using every other day I was there) but they had no problem with young, unsupervised children zooming around the campground on facility golf carts. I’ll go spend my money at Gulf State Park, Island Retreat, or Sugar Sands RV Park. Shame that these employees lost my business and I will be telling fellow campers to avoid this park.
