⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect Fall Weekend Getaway! We had an absolutely perfect fall weekend at Sun Outdoors Wells Beach. The cabins were spotless, cozy, and well-equipped—perfect for crisp Maine evenings. The setting was peaceful with beautiful foliage all around, and it’s conveniently close to everything we wanted to explore. Great place to stay for couples or families looking for comfort and relaxation. Highly recommend!

We had a very disappointing experience at Sun Outdoors Wells Beach. We visited as two couples (4 adults) and unfortunately made a mistake during the booking process. As Canadians, our English is not perfect, and we misunderstood the “pop-up tent” option. When we arrived on Friday evening, instead of receiving understanding or assistance, we were told the campground was full and that we could only stay one night, all four of us on the same site. This was especially frustrating because we had paid for two sites with water and electricity. We were simply told it was our mistake, and that there was nothing they could do for us. What made the situation even worse was the way it was handled. If the staff had at least taken the time to listen to us, it would have made a difference. Instead, we were constantly interrupted, not given the chance to fully explain, and left with no options. To add to the frustration, we were also charged an extra fee for a second vehicle, even though we had booked and paid for two sites, which should naturally include two vehicles. On top of that, we were not even allowed to park the second vehicle on our own site. This felt completely unreasonable. It is very disappointing to drive 5 hours expecting a weekend getaway, only to be told we had to leave the next morning. In the end, we had no choice but to leave and drive to Sun Outdoors Old Orchard Beach, and what a difference it was! The staff there were welcoming, helpful, and the whole place was much better managed. The detour was absolutely worth it. Unfortunately, this was a very negative experience, and we do not feel that the campground is welcoming to new guests.

Very dog friendly and a good central location for Maine's Beach Region. We stayed here the week before Labor Day and they were not full. Our site was small, yet arranged so we didn't feel on top of our neighbors. Most sites have shade, a plus for dogs. Has a nice dog park and bag stations throughout the park. Lots of dogs stay here and there are many dog friendly restaurants near by. The bathhouse in the middle of the park was dated, yet clean. The only problem was the lights turning off during our showering. Luckily we bathed in the early mornings. Don't let the busy entrance sway you. It's easy to turn right and turn around at the nearby shopping center if needed during busy times.

The campsite was clean and well-maintained, though the sites were a bit cramped with little space between neighbors. Getting in and out was a bit tricky since it was located near an intersection and right off the main road—so traffic noise could be an issue. That said, it worked fine for us, as we weren’t planning to have a fire or spend much time sitting outside. The shade was a nice bonus, keeping the camper cool. We mainly used it as a base for exploring the area.

Nice, clean campground with a fabulous staff. We were in a 30' 5th wheel and had plenty of room. The laundry ($3) was very nice, and the pool area was beautiful. Beware of GPS directions. Our trucker app had us go beyond the campground entrance on the main road and into a dead-end neighborhood. Fortunately, a resident saw us and unlocked a gate that allowed us to pass through and back to the main road. Shwew! Turn in at the mini golf driveway. A grocery store is very close, and the beach is one mile away.
