Place is coo but, it seems like every time I camp here the people around us want complete quiet at 9pm, we had our neighbors complaining that we were talking, not loud, no music , bay area quiet time types. Other than that its great. Just be quiet and go to bed at 8pm quietly

One of the most natural beach in the Monterey Bay Area, definitely the most natural in Santa Cruz county. Beautiful dunes with tall grasses and native plants. Quiet on weekdays but more popular on weekends.

Cute spot for camping near the beach, about 25 mins from Carmel. Great facilities. Would absolutely come back. Note that campsites are not on the beach. We were in #51 which felt a bit crowded (no privacy) but it wasn’t too bad!

This is an amazingly awesome campsite. The rangers and park workers were also amazingly awesome! The surroundings, bathrooms, and whole campsite was very clean and well kept. I would highly recommend this family-friendly beautiful area.

Very nice campground. Facilities are old, but maintained clean. There was a racoon party at night nearby site 28. Be careful if you have small dogs or kids. They don't usually attack adults if you approach to them first. Nature such as trees, soil, animals, the sound of wave, and the song of birds in the morning is so great. You can see dolphines from the sunset beach if you are lucky.

Quiet location. Only one or two camping spots have ocean views. No hookups. Pluses are the Rangers and camp hosts, very nice. Short walk from the campsites to incredible views of Monterrey Bay.

Great beach 5 or 6 miles of coast line. Camped there many years ago still beautiful. Expect to be put on a waiting list.

Warm bathroom with warm water and paid showers. Outside water/sink area with warm water also available. Must bring or buy firewood as onsite wood gathering is forbidden. 1st car parking fee included, but others must pay. Next door construction site had loud bass playing all night long disturbing the campers' sleep so bring ear plugs just in case. The beach is nearby, but it's a long hike or a short drive.

Our campsite kinda sucked...If you book a campsite do it at the South Campground. The other spot are basically for RV's. But being able to camp that close to the beach was amazing. The beach itself was amazing! We would definitely go back.

We had an absolutely terrible experience at this campground. First of all, never book site 88. It is not even big enough to set up a 1 person tent. It was a giant ordeal for us to get into a better site that actually fit us (3 adults, 1 child). We were ready to call it a loss and search for another campground in the area, which in hindsight we should have done. Once we got a better site things were looking up. A very short hike to some amazing views of the ocean and a hike down to a beautiful beach. I spend a lot of time in rougher parts of Oakland, and have had my fair share of thefts. I have become jaded and paranoid about leaving anything out in the open ANYWHERE. Unfortunately my friends didn’t have the same view point on this trip and felt comfortable leaving hundreds of dollars worth of stuff on our picnic table while we slept. Unfortunately we woke to the realization that our site had been burglarized over night. We reported the theft to the campground host only to find out that they had also been burglarized overnight. Needless to say we won’t be returning, and if you do decide to stay here, DON’T LEAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE OUT ALL NIGHT!!!
