My lady and I just spent 2 winter months at the Sunshine RV Resort in Lake Placid, FL which we paid for in advance. As a result of our stay, we will never return to that resort. When we arrived, we were shown to our camping spot by one of their personnel. He took us in to the sight from a poor direction not leaving much room to maneuver. As we were turning to back into the sight, the rear of my RV hit the front fender of the neighbor’s car putting a dent in it. The RV man parking us was not in view of my rearview mirror and did not stop me until after the accident. We ended up having to go around the block and enter from the other direction. As a result, the resort wouldn’t take any responsibility for the accident and I had to pay for it myself. The resort maintenance manager told me that the man parking us didn’t know what he was doing. In addition to this initial problem, we experienced, the water was contaminated twice during our stay and the water pressure was minimal several times. The internet service didn’t work the majority of the time either. When we got our electric bill, there were additional charges which we were told was for our portion of the entire resort’s electric bill. Also during our stay, the heater on the swimming pool went out twice making it too cold to get into. Our neighbors, who were full timers, put their place up for sale after more than 10 years there during our stay and told us they have had enough of the negative issues in this resort. The only good thing I can say about it is that the people who played pickleball there were very friendly and accommodating. Think carefully before you decide to visit this RV resort.

This little gem is quiet, away from the traffic of the coasts. There are horseshoe, pickleball, golf, fishing, bingo, euchre, poker enthusiasts that meet here every winter. We were welcomed by most residents. One of the friendliest places to winter in Florida.

We’ve stayed in many RV parks, a few in Florida. Sunshine is one of the best. Great pool. Plenty to do. And the people in the park are the nicest I’ve come across. We will definitely be back.

We have stayed here for 3 Winters now. Great Park!! The location is a short drive to each coast, near Casinos, Race Tracks, and shopping. The owners continue to invest in the park. The Staff is Great and works hard to make it a place like Home.

This was our third time staying, ownership has clearly invested in this resort . adding new pickle ball courts , The park is well maintained and is a delightful destination for both adults and families . The dog park is a big draw for us

Weird Strange this campsite prohibits your entry after sunset around 6.30 pm.. If you are a customer with a motorhome without a car and want to visit places or go to a restaurant, after 6.0 pm, you will no longer be able to enter and go to your site. We were installed on our site and suddenly our fridge stopped working.. we had to go out for a repair.. The management called us to warn us that we had to come back before sunset, otherwise, the entrance to the campsite we would be forbidden... …. We explained to them that we would be back around 7.30 pm after the repair of the fridge…. Nothing to do, we had to sleep in the parking lot of an outdoor business…. Bizarre campsite.. a bit of a dictator. !!!! Not recommended for travellers….

We camped for a couple of weeks in January and were very pleased with our stay. I have never met such nice residents. They are so welcoming! It was very relaxing. I would definitely return. It was a good break from the traffic from the Florida coasts! Lake Placid and Sebring were very enjoyable towns.

My mother bought a home in this “resort” it is in a spot that floods any time the rainy season happens to appear. She was not informed of this problem. It has flooded so many times, she has been forced to move. She bought the mobile home from the park, they have refused to do anything about the knee high standing water that is present for months after storms. The owner of the “ resort” has refused to take care of his property, that she pays a substantial lot rent for. He told my mother that he would buy the mobile home back from her, so she moved out. He now has taken back his promise to buy her out. He is a thief.
