Surf N Stream Campground

Overview

Surf N Stream Campground offers a serene, wooded escape situated in the heart of Ocean County. As a long-standing destination for Jersey Shore travelers, it provides a functional balance between a classic camping experience and convenient accessibility to the Atlantic coast. The park emphasizes a family-friendly atmosphere where guests can enjoy the shade of mature trees while remaining just a short drive from the region's famous boardwalks and beaches.

Location & Surroundings

Located in Toms River, the campground sits near the Barnegat Bay and the edges of the scenic New Jersey Pinelands. The environment is characterized by sandy soil and dense pine and oak canopies, offering a natural buffer from the bustling shore traffic. This location makes it an ideal basecamp for those who want to explore coastal New Jersey without being directly in the high-traffic beachfront zones, providing a much quieter retreat for evening relaxation.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is equipped with essential facilities designed to ensure a comfortable stay, including full hookup RV sites and spacious pull-through options for larger rigs. On-site recreation is a central highlight, featuring a large outdoor swimming pool and a miniature golf course that keeps families entertained during their downtime. Visitors also have access to clean bathhouses, laundry facilities, and a camp store stocked with essentials like propane and firewood, ensuring that all basic necessities are met within the grounds.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

One of the primary draws of this location is the proximity to Seaside Heights and Point Pleasant Beach, both of which are within a twenty-minute drive. These areas offer iconic boardwalks, amusement rides, and pristine sandy beaches. Nature enthusiasts can visit the nearby Cattus Island County Park for hiking and birdwatching or spend a day exploring the undeveloped dunes at Island Beach State Park. For those seeking retail therapy or local dining, downtown Toms River provides a variety of charming boutiques and restaurants.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is a perfect fit for family vacationers looking for a traditional summer camping trip near the water. It appeals specifically to RVers who prefer a rustic, wooded setting over a modern concrete resort layout. Because of its central location in Ocean County, it is also ideal for travelers who want to visit multiple boardwalks and state parks during a single trip while maintaining a peaceful, shaded home base to return to at night.

So I went to this campground with my wife and young child seeking shelter for the winter. And was told by management to find a space in the campground and set up our TENT!!! And we would handle guest registration at a later time only to have Ray "manager" to show up at 8pm one night before a massive blizzard. And yell cuss and scream at I and my wife that we weren't Registered guests and we are to pack up immediately and to leave the property NOW or he's calling the police. What a stand up guy !!!! He even ripped out our only extension cords from power pole causing our Brand new refrigerator to short out and causing our extension cords to ark and melt. So we started packing at 8pm and didn't finish until 3am . All the time all 7 hours he kept circling the campground or sending other PERMANENT RESIDENTS!!! To drive by and return with weather or not we were gone yet. Then while pulling out of the campground again at 3am Ray sat in his personal vehicle at the entrance watching to see if we left. What a shame 😔 And to think with a young child ...... karma will come your way. This is supposed to be a seasonal campground however people have been there year round for 20 plus years and are charged differently. Depending on weather or not they care for your company. And it just sold to ocean county for 7.6 million. So soon nobody will be there

What a joke. This is no campground. Pulled in and left right away. Definitely not bringing my family camping here. The park supervisor is like talking to a wall. He was under the influence of something. Couldn't keep a conversation about the campground. To busy talking about conspiracy theories. I Highly recommend family's to go else wear. Website pictures are way outdated.
