The good: The campground itself is nice with full hook-ups and nice privacy. We had a pull thru site that had plenty of room for our 40 foot 5th wheel and our long-bed dually truck. The views of the surrounding mountains and hills is lovely. There's lots of trails to walk in the park and down by the reservoir, which is only open from Friday-Monday. The bad: There is tons of traffic noise that is non-stop, day and night, as you are very near an interstate highway and other nearby roads. In addition, we were invaded by ants in our 5th wheel from our first day and sprayed them daily but no luck getting rid of them until we left. The Ugly: you are under the direct incoming flight path to San Diego International airport. A huge jet flies over your campsite approximately every minute to two minutes for at least 16-18 hours of every day. There was a lull during the hours from maybe 1am-6am, otherwise the noise was almost constant. If you don't mind constant loud noise day and night, you will like this campground. We couldn't wait to leave.

I gave this only 4 stars because of the constant air traffic and 2 surrounding interstates. The air traffic was the worst a jet almost every 1.3 minutes. You couldn't sit outside and enjoy yourself. The park itself is a 5. There is also a huge ant problem, be sure to spray your surroundings.

I got a last minute camping spot. Park is lovely, scenery is stunning. Clean bathrooms and pay showers available. Easy in a nd easy out, what's not to love?? There were a lot of campers but I felt my space had plenty of privacy. There are trash receptacles. Everything was clean and pleasant. I had positive experiences calling the Parks & Recreation office as well as the ranger station, everyone was super helpful.

Nice little quiet place to walk, see the reservoir, mountains, freeway at some part. Think it connects to the Bonita trail and golf park. But there's a quiet campground there too. Close to the city but out far enough to be away. Sometimes I get lucky and saw some coyotes roaming around

This area was great! We got the day pass to hike up sweetwater summit, nice hike though very cakey and muddy. The playground was eh. Overall, great place to go camping with an rv or hiking!

The best Campsite in San Diego County, clean and safe and the best restrooms of any campsites. Restrooms are private individual and they lock no stall restrooms where you have to look over your shoulder and make sure no one’s entering the restroom. When you’re occupying it. Nice walk, trails, clean roads, hot, running water and the restrooms. Nice park employees very helpful. Very comfortable For travelers.

Splash pad is open May-October 10am-6:30pm. The staff said they usually close end of October. It's right next to the playground and the bathrooms. There are also some picnic tables in semi-shade under the trees next to the pad/ playground.

Had a great weekend at the campground. Everything is so well maintained and clean. The splash pad water park and playground were a big hit with the kiddos. The best part is the space between the campsites was ample and gave you a nice sense of paradise to your self.

Site #138. Large campground with clean flush toilets and hot showers. The campground has both full and partial hook-up sites, including equestrian sites with horse corrals. We saw many people out horseback riding on the trails around the campground. There is a splash pad for the kids in the summer months, and fishing is allowed in Sweetwater Reservoir. Nice place to get away from the city if only for a few days.

We stayed at the campground for a few days. This is a nice place: the sites are clean, bathrooms are clean. Water and electric, sites on the north loop may have sewage too. There is a sewage dump if needed. Showers require tokens 1 token is .50 cents and gets you 4 minutes. The sound of the freeway and being in the flight path for landing at the SD airport were the only drawbacks. But we would come back, for sure.

Terrific County Park. Very active and busy. Camp sites were clean and spacious. Terrific views of the surrounding hills. Nice hiking trails just off the campground. Horse campsites are available

Very nice park. Spaces are groomed impeccably and the staff really take pride in this park. Spaces are far apart and wide with plenty of room. The views are great. Airplane traffic stops between 11:00p and 6:00a and is not a problem. We will be back for sure.

Very nice park. Friendly staff, great amenities and well maintained. Had a really nice time camping at sweetwater in the new sites. My only complaint is there is no cover from the sun, but they have some new trees planted so it will be a few years... but it will be worth the wait. Each site had full hookups and the restrooms and showers are very nice and clean. Nice playground for the grandkids. We'll be back
