Sweetwater Valley KOA

Overview

The Sweetwater Valley KOA Holiday serves as a welcoming gateway for travelers exploring the scenic rolling hills of East Tennessee. Known for its meticulously maintained grounds and high level of service, this park provides a comfortable transition from the highway to a relaxing camping environment. Whether you are passing through on a long cross-country journey or looking for a reliable base camp to explore the region, the atmosphere is professional, quiet, and accommodating.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just off Interstate 75, this park offers a highly convenient location for RVers traveling the corridor between Knoxville and Chattanooga. Despite its proximity to the major thoroughfare, the sites are thoughtfully arranged to provide a sense of space and immersion in the Tennessee landscape. The surrounding town of Sweetwater offers a blend of historic rural charm and modern essential services, ensuring guests have quick access to local antique shops, dining, and grocery runs.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed with modern conveniences at the forefront, featuring level pull-thru sites that easily accommodate the largest big rigs and tow vehicles. Key recreational and functional features include:

  • Spacious KOA Patio sites with fire rings and upgraded outdoor furniture.
  • A seasonal outdoor swimming pool and large jumping pillow for children.
  • A dedicated KampK9 dog park for pet-friendly travel.

Practical features like high-speed Wi-Fi, modern laundry facilities, and an on-site snack bar serving pizza and wings ensure a stress-free stay for all guests.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Exploring the local area is a major draw for visitors, with The Lost Sea Adventure located only a short drive away, offering tours of the largest underground lake in the country. Agriculture enthusiasts often head to the nearby Mayfield Dairy Farms for a famous tour and ice cream. Additionally, the park is a manageable drive from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, making it a viable alternative to the more crowded campgrounds located directly inside the heavy tourist corridors.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is perfectly suited for family vacationers who prioritize organized activities and high-quality facility standards. It also serves as an exceptional choice for interstate travelers seeking a safe, clean, and predictable overnight stop with effortless highway access. My husband and I took our 1 year old son here for our first family vacation. Deanna and Celeste made us feel extremely welcomed..The grounds were clean and delightful..the cabin was the perfect size. We will be returning again!

KOA was fantastic! They took us in on very short notice. The whole area is nicely set up and includes a little store where you can buy basic supplies and some food. There's even a game room with board games, a Pac-Man and a craft area. The cabin we stayed in was very tidy and well thought through. We had everything we needed, and it was very cute. 100% would go back!

5/5 then add 5 more! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The park was always clean, bathrooms immaculate, and play area was well kept. The campsite was spacious and tidy. They even decorated for Halloween, which my children loved seeing. The food was so good. The store had all the necessities needed. The park was quiet and everyone was so friendly. Definitely would visit again.

Stayed here 2 nights in late August. Friendly people helped us modify and existing reservation. The site was nice and we used corn hole and lawn area. Good access to visit friends in Telico. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean. We also got propane gas there and someone transported and filled tank for us. This is our second stay there and we will visit again.

The first few years we came here we absolutely loved it. The cabins are so nice and everything is clean and its pretty quiet. The staff was so welcoming. Especially the older guy that worked day and night and greeted you every day on his golf cart but he no longer works here as of 2025 . The people in the front are still super nice, the new ground workers don't seem as friendly, didn't greet us when we walked by. Still a very nice clean KOA. Much more quiet than Pigeon Forge
