August 25, 2022 Logger Campground on Stampede Reservoir is a beautiful setting. It has 251 campsites in 6 separate loops. The Campground Hosts are all the best. There are no services here, but it’s only 10 miles to Truckee RV right at Hirschdale and I-80. They have a full variety or basic needs and gas, propane and fresh sandwiches. Now, the problem here is it’s not visited by the local sheriff or the forestry service often enough. So be a COURTEOUS camper and park in the designated areas, leave your boat trailers at the boat ramp, before leaving put your campfire out with plenty of water, don’t throw Cigerette butts, bottles, cans and other trash in the fire pits. Pick up all your trash also before leaving. Remember, these Campground Hosts are unpaid volunteers and are very helpful so please don’t abuse them. I’ve talked to several of them, good people from all over the America and all walks of life. They have a passion for what they do. Enjoy your camping experience.

The campsite is well-maintained and offers a worthwhile experience. The reservoir is aesthetically pleasing. Although there was some noise, it was comforting to know that others were enjoying themselves. I would like to express my appreciation to the campground hosts for their effective management, which contributed to a secure environment.

Great camp host and clean restrooms. Our only struggle was our truck and trailer didn’t fit. We have a 38 foot trailer and a Ford 350 long bed. The host was very generous and let us park across the way in a spot. Planning on going back next week. We were in spot 198 is perfect walk to lake, but the site is on a downhill decline and I felt like I was constantly trying to keep my balance. Great for maybe a tent site. Overall, awesome campground.

We recently visited Logger Campground and spent great time with family. The campground has all necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay, it is located near reservoirs, which are perfect for kayaking and kids activities. The camp hosts were nice people and they are keeping the campground clean. Only downside is there is no bathroom which we didn’t mind due to cold weather.

Logger campground is a great camping spot. It is dry camping, so be prepared. Sites are pretty well spaced. We didn't really have any neighbors at our spot. There are vault toilets that are kept clean. The host does enforce the rules which I can appreciate.

We had a nice relaxing time. Stayed in Steam Donkey loop sites 141& 142.. they back up to the water when the lake is full. The site slopes slightly so bring a shovel if you are tent camping. RV& trailers are ok. We almost had the whole place to ourselves, 4 others in campground. Lots of deer activity they walked right through our site every night. Over all it was very nice. Bathrooms were not an issue because there was no one in the campground. Sites were pretty spacious, we were very surprised. We are site snobs we look for campgrounds with larger sites because we have non people dogs and don't want to be camping on top of other people. We will definitely be back..

Great camp sites and absolutely love the area. I've been camping here for almost 30yrs; Unfortunately, the camp host in our particular area was a completely unpleasant, nasty, mean tool of a human being. 30yrs here and the camp hosts have always been some of my favorite individuals to meet.....fun, nice, personable, seem to enjoy what they're doing.....them came along this guy! Campers beware.....avoid anything in the 200-250 section of the East Logger Campground.

Bummer about the lake. I knew the water receded but not that much. Otherwise awesome campground as always. Clean. Partly to mostly shady, depends on the site. Hosts are friendly and helpful.

We had a great time at Logger two weekends in a row. The water is low unfortunately but that can’t be helped this year. I will say the staff clean the bathrooms twice a day which is nice and they are all very helpful! It is very dusty so be prepared.

No bear boxes but otherwise the camp ground was well maintained. Sites were spacious. I recommend a double. I usually do dispersed camping or reserve group sites and I hate regular campgrounds. But this was more than acceptable. Only issues were the drive to the boat ramp and overflow parking. You can see the overflow and it's a 2 minute walk but a 10 minute drive because they keep a gate locked so you have to drive by the ranger. I was warned not to leave anything in the boat or back of truck in overflow and If you are leaving a trailer use the long cable to chain it to.
