I have stayed here before. The park is quite attractive although some of the sites are crowded. My beef - there were 3 of us that made reservations several months in advance. Like many RV parks, there are different size sites and sometimes different views that you can pay for and reserve. Two of us reserved sites on the pond. A premium site. I called the park about 2 weeks prior to our arrival to confirm our reservation. We were confirmed ON THE POND. However when we arrived, we were directed to the very back of the park about as far from the pond as possible, next to additional trailer parking. AND CHARGED A PREMIUM FEE. We complained but to no avail. If there was only one of us, I could have bought the explanation that there was an error. But to have moved two of us to a different site but still next to each other!! No way. In further support of the fact that they sold us on pond sites and then purposefully moved us to sell someone else a pond site - the exact same thing happened to someone that came in 3 days later and were placed next to use. They also reserved a pond site and were moved. Really unfortunate and bait and switch. Lack of honesty.

Upon pulling up to this RV park, I was a bit concerned as it looked a bit run down. We have a 43 foot fifth wheel and we were pleasantly surprised to get a spot by their creek. It was actually very nice and peaceful. Used the park as our home base to spend two days exploring Crested Butte. The guy who drives you to your spot was also excellent at helping to guide us backing in.

We enjoyed staying in the RV Park but it was dusty and kept us congested the whole time. Because the weather was very warm we, like everyone else, had our windows open throughout the day. People zoomed by in golf carts non-stop all day long, as well a guy came by on a tractor pulling a grater to smooth the road down, no warning at all, everything including us covered with dust! I liked the place but that situation was too much, and since we were visiting the area we were dealing with lots of allergy and sinus issues, the dusty situation only made it worse. The laundry was handy, clean and reasonably priced. The playground was great for our granddaughter. Our location on the end of a row was not ideal because of the constant traffic.

They were incredibly nice on the phone for booking. It was silent when we got there. You could hear the water rushing by, and that was peaceful. It was a good night sleep with a hot shower. We accidentally left our wallet there. They cleaned the cabin as soon as we left and called us immediately so we could go back. They absolutely saved our trip. We are forever grateful for their honesty and care.

The Tall Texan is a wonderful place to stay for a few nights. Shaded by cotton woods trees we visited in the first week of the 2025 season. Everyone was busy cleaning up the winter’s debris and getting ready to open for the summer. The staff is warm and cheerful always ready to help. For us, the location was perfect as our daughter lives across the road. We’ll be back. Thanks so very much for providing a wonderful place to visit.
