First off, I wish I could give the staff 5 stars. They were awesome. This camp is a dump. Any time you see that “a modern America campground” or some other corporate greed company has bought a campground stay far away. It’s a prime example of a large corporation buying out a failing family campground and then putting in the bare minimum. The playground is 50 yrs old. Theres no pool, no game room and the bathrooms are dark and in need of replacement. The sites have a ton of trees in places that make it very difficult to maneuver and over a 30’ trailer. They needs to cut down about a dozen trees and this could be easily solved. Lastly there no dump station when you leave! So if you have been pooping and peeing in your travel trailer at a site without sewer they make you take it with you. So hopefully it isn’t your last trip for the season. Ver all would never stay here again. The KOA down the street is 3 times the campground for the same money.

We just did 4 days here, it was a very nice experience. The sites are well maintained, roomy, and all have great tree coverage. We were riverside and had the babble of the river, that was amazing to fall asleep to. The fire pits and picnic tables were the nicest I've seen. The folks that are running/ working the site are hard workers and extremely friendly. Every day they were out cleaning up the site, fixing facilities. They are very on the ball and responsive. The location seemed great, so many activities within a short ride. I fully recommend it and will definitely be back.

We were there for the jeep go topples, the campground was so clean, hard to believe it's a campground. The people and the managers are very friendly and helpful with whatever you need. I only concern is the first sign you see said three (3) miles to the campground and before you know it you have passed the campground, another sign would be nice about 100 yards prior to getting to the entrance. Thank you for a great weekend.

I tried Tamworth Campground (now part of Modern America) for the 1st time with my husband on their opening weekend and lets just say we will be returning soon. Despite the weather and it being opening weekend we enjoyed it here. We are normally tent people but decided to rent their Jayco trailer and we really enjoyed it. For the most part it was clean only a few things I can recommend but I'll get to that(nothing major). The trailer was well stocked with all the kitchen essentials you need from kitchen cookware to hand towels and cleaning supplies it was a great touch. The staff was all very friendly and I wish we got their names but I'm horrible with names so Ill get them next time. They inspect the rental with you to make sure you have everything you need and if anything is missing. The only thing we needed was food bedding and towels. We don't have young kids but we have a grandson and so when we book we will bring him because he would have a blast at the playground and playing and fishing on the river. The water was very high because of the recent rain but we will be back to enjoy that for sure. The fire pits were great nice and big and you can even cook on them. Best firepits I seen a very long time and I travel all over NE to camp so that is a great thing as we are the type of people who love to cook on a fire. Only thing I would recommend the staff to do is the following: 1: A Broom to keep in the camper - We are clean folks and would have swept through out the weekend and as we left but didn't have one. We did have cleaning wipes and stuff but not a broom. 2: Maybe some time soon get a new mattress. That mattress was not comfortable at all and even though it had a good wood support under the mattress the mattress itself forced you to roll towards the middle because there was no mattress support. 3: We used the heat because it was a rainy chilly weekend and when it clicked on it had a musky odor. I get it most campers do as they get older and have been sitting over the winter as I use to own one but there are ways to help that. I can see from the AC vents there might be a problem too. So my only recommendation would be to look into that. Other than that thank you Tamworth Campground for giving us a new camping spot that is less than 1hr from my home.

Warning: very active gun range immediately next door to the campground. Sites on the Safari Field practically abut the gun range. Campsites are large and wooded. Staff are courteous and kind. The little beach on the river is nice. Facilities are clean and well kept, if a little dated. But the gun range noise is almost unbearable when the range is open. It ruins an otherwise very nice little campground.
