The venue (old restaurant) was a beautiful spot for our reception. The location of our wedding was also perfect. But I highly suggest you do not make payments for the venue but pay it all in full. Otherwise, the ladies in the office will accuse you of not paying the full amount then reject your offer to show the receipts and instead “just take your word for it.” Also don’t even think about getting your deposit back in a timely manner-got questions about the deposit or just any question in general-better not ask Dixie or it will be a BIG inconvenience for her and her attitude will let you know it. Rude staff! Except the older gentleman in the store-he was very nice.

Beautiful place and we enjoyed the historic buildings and museum. Especially the steam train. My daughter loves trains so this made her day. The playground was right beside our site and lots of hiking to be had.

The Good: • Beautiful natural setting • Historical structures and significance • Variety of attractions appeal to a diverse user group • Bathrooms seem to be newly remodeled and clean • Continued investment in the park to attract more users • Friendly staff Not So Good: • Litter EVERYWHERE, from one end of the park to the other. Candy wrappers, broken sewers hoses, used jugs of oil, used latex gloves, large cardboard boxes, cans, etc. • Semi-permanent campers in all of the full-hookup sites and at least half of the water/electric sites. Gives off tent city vibes with all the "extra" tents, canvas carports, TARPS, fences, etc.

Stayed in the primitive camping area. The site was sufficiently private with flat areas suitable for the tents and a fire ring already set up. Staff was friendly, bathhouses clean and an abundance of portable toilets that were well maintained. Would have liked to see a bbq in the primitive section available to the tenting cround. Only bbqs observed were at the pavilions.

We stayed here for almost a week in our 40’ 5th wheel. Sites are adequately spacious. Loop 1 and 2 have full hookups with 20, 30 and 50 amp. Several sites backup to the creek. There are several pull thru sites. The campground map isn’t very informative on the extents of the campsites. They do not do reservations so it’s first come first serve. They let you go pick your site. If you don’t need sewer hookup, check loop 3. I happened to pick the one site that was the most difficult to level the rig, site 213, but it was nice to right next to the creek. Great place for kids, riding bikes and walking the dog! Tannehill is about a 30 min drive into Birmingham. We would stay here again. Can’t beat that rate of $30 per night!

Amazing park, it really felt like a hidden gem. We tent camped and the primitive sites were located along a small brook. We watched a family of deer cross right next to us. The trails are awesome and the water is beautiful. Great family or couples retreat for a weekend. Bathrooms/showers could use some updating but all in all, a fantastic place to visit.

Tannehill holds a special place in my heart. My grandparents would sell their wares at trade days and my friends and I would spend the weekend roaming every inch of that place. I have such great memories. I love the way it's basically stayed the same all these years. It's something constant and beautiful in a sometimes ugly and ever changing world. It's very special to me.😌❤

Kid friendly. Love floating with the stream of the water. Hiking trails and bike trails were a good length. Train ride could have been longer but for $1 it was cool. The bigger fish were picky eaters.

Let me just say, it's so sad to hear this place lost government funding I'm sure because of it's confederate roots. Once I heard that I was HAPPY to pay to enter. This park was an absolute treasure and i very much enjoyed viewing and walking around all the old confederate iron buildings etc. I take my southern roots seriously and this is what it's all about. Thank you to everyone who works here and helps keep this place alive. So many people enjoying RV camping here made me very happy. 👌🏻

Regularly crowded, but chock full of family fun!
