Taos Valley RV Park & Campground
Overview
Taos Valley RV Park & Campground offers a serene home base for exploring the high desert of northern New Mexico. Situated at an elevation of nearly 7,000 feet, this park provides a cooling escape under the shade of mature cottonwood trees. It strikes a balance between a natural retreat and a convenient staging ground for mountain adventures. Visitors often comment on the breathtaking sunsets and the clear, starry skies that define the New Mexico experience.
Location & Surroundings
The park is located on the southern edge of Taos, placing guests within minutes of the town's vibrant art scene and historic district. The surrounding landscape features the dramatic Sangre de Cristo Mountains, providing a stunning backdrop for every campsite. Because it is slightly removed from the busiest parts of the highway, the property maintains a peaceful atmosphere. It serves as an ideal gateway to the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway, a popular route for sightseeing and photography.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is well-equipped to handle various rig sizes with its level, gravel pads and full hookup options including 30 and 50-amp service. Guests have access to reliable Wi-Fi, clean restroom facilities, and on-site laundry rooms. For those who enjoy outdoor cooking, the park provides picnic tables at sites and a fenced dog run for pet travelers. The presence of large, established trees offers significant privacy and wind protection compared to more open desert parks found in the region.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Adventure is never far away, with the historic Taos Pueblo and its centuries-old adobe structures located just a short drive north. Nature lovers can head to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge for stunning canyon views or visit the Earthship Biotecture visitor center for unique architectural inspiration. During the winter months, Taos Ski Valley offers world-class slopes, while the summer is perfect for whitewater rafting on the Rio Grande or gallery hopping in the Historic Taos Plaza.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for travelers who want to be close to the cultural heart of Taos without sacrificing the tranquility of a traditional campground. It is a great fit for nature-loving families and couples looking for a reliable, well-maintained basecamp. Because of the quiet environment and shaded sites, it is also a top choice for extended-stay RVers who want to immerse themselves in the local arts community while enjoying a comfortable, scenic living space.

We stayed here for 5 nights last week, and have zero complaints. We stayed in a pull through site in the first row… technically not far from our neighbors but spaced in such a way that we weren’t close. ( back to front). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Grounds were pleasant to walk including the dog trails ( no pet). Did not use bathroom or laundry. Would go back.

Great RV Park. One of the nicest I have visited. Top 5% of easily over a hundred locations I've hit in the last few years. Love the good number of pull through spots, it's quiet, clean and very pretty. The staff are exceptional and considerably nicer than most. Top 1% score for them.

Located on south side of Taos. Office staff helpful with local information. Our site was a pull thru. Do not expect to keep your tow vehicle connected to a 40+ ft class A. The roads thru the park have tight turns. Our site was better backed into because of the narrow road to our site. Park is clean with many trash cans as well as a dumpster at the entrance. Picnic table located on a cement pad. There are some sites with concrete pads. We had a gravel site that was pretty level.

I called and talked with Elena on the phone. She was enthusiastic and fun to talk with. I needed a tent site for the night and she said there was plenty. The campground is laid out beautifully. There is plenty of privacy between sites. Everything is clean. Elena let me drive around and chose my tent site. Every tent is site fantastic. Picnic table, grill, and tent pad! I am a tent camper and usually prefer dispersed camping in the national forest or BLM. I wanted a little luxury with beautiful views and this checked all the boxes. The best part of this campground are the owners. I met Elena and she told me how they found this spot. You can see their hearts and souls in this place. It's priceless. I highly recommend this place and will stay again. It's a dog friendly place. I know this is a great place for the entire family.

A very nice RV park in town with spacious sites and excellent bathrooms. I received an email with the bathroom codes and wifi passwords ahead of time. They give you your site at check-in. We were next to the small walking trails. There is a grill and picnic table and reasonably level parking place. Overall, a great place to stay close to shops, restaurants, supermarkets and all that Taos has to offer.
