Taughannock Picnic Area sits near the playground and swimming beach, making it perfect for a fun day out. The area is peaceful with great views of Cayuga Lake and easy access to hiking trails, including a stroller-friendly path to the stunning waterfall. Just a heads-up, parking costs $10, and facilities are decent but bathrooms could be cleaner.

Awesome place! and its one you can see it without doing any hiking, most of these huge waterfalls require hours of hiking, this one you can park and literally right there at the parking area. You can hike down if you want the up close and personal experience. Would definitely suggest doing some research in to the best times of year. We went in mid August and wasn't as full

I would highly recommend stopping by Taughannock Falls. It's an easy walk out to the falls and well worth the effort. Seeing it in person is infinitely better than the pictures. Parking is fairly easy. If you can, go the day after a rainstorm!

Beautiful! We just paid $10 for parking across the street. It was very easy to walk to the water fall on a path that I also saw people in wheelchairs and strollers easily navigate. Along the way the water is a trickle and people stopped for their children to play in it. When you get to the actual waterfall there is a small bridge. Falcons flew overhead. There is a sign that says don't go any further. A man and his small son didn't listen and walked close to the falls. A park ranger had to go get them. As we had arrived, someone was being airlifted on a stretcher. I don't know why but people really need to follow the signs for their safety.

This is easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It's very humid but worth the small "hike". If you park at the gorge trailhead, its about a 20 minute scenic walk along a path that is wheelchair accessible. There are restrooms available at each trailhead, and even a colorblind viewer at the viewpoint! This is definitely a must see for the family.
