We reserved all of our camping and ferry for a 3 weeks vacation on the Island starting in Nanaimo and had 4 of those nights booked at telegraph cove. Unfortunately 3 days before we were to leave we had a death in the family in another province and I had to cancel all of our reservations the provincial parks camping, a private campground in Powell River and the BC Ferry were fine I had to pay a small cancellation fee, which is understandable. When I contacted Telegraph Cove campground they advised as it wasn't 30 days before our stay they would not refund any monies which was $630.00 for 4 night x 2 campgrounds. They did offer us to come at a later date and would extend that to May 2027. They then sent an email advising they could only extend until the end of the year. Some of us work and we just can't rearrange our vacation time. I read there cancellation policy which is quite lengthy and I did agree to but it says nothing regarding family death. I would be fine with losing some sort of deposit but the entire amount lost feels like they are ripping me off.

We have been there in September and had two splendid nights in the north of Vancouver Island. The campground is perfectly located, the toilettes and showers are totally okay, the check-in is completely easy, the owners are nice guys.

We have come to love this place! Since 1990 we've fished at Telegraph Cove and always came home full of gratitude. If you love the boundless beauty of your surroundings come to Telegraph Cove. The service is excellent from the Meinhold family (Tyler, Stephanie and Josh). Their facilities are great all around. God willing we can come back again next year and for many more years after that. Very highly recommended.

Super cute old fishing village turned outdoor tourism mecca. It was significantly busier than I thought it would be yet it did not seemed thronged. We had lingcod and chips and burgers. The food was decent and price was high as to be expected in a place like this. Lots of opportunities to hire kayaks, go fishing, etc
