Ten Sleep RV Park & Cabins

Overview

Ten Sleep RV Park & Cabins offers a tranquil and welcoming resting spot in one of Wyoming’s most scenic mountain gateways. Nestled in a small, quiet community, this park serves as a comfortable base camp for those eager to explore the rugged beauty of the Bighorn Mountains. It provides a thoughtful mix of traditional RV sites and cozy lodging options, emphasizing a peaceful mountain atmosphere over the frantic pace often found in larger commercial resorts.

Location & Surroundings

The park is ideally situated in the charming town of Ten Sleep, located at the western foothills of the massive Bighorn range. Travelers will appreciate the spectacular canyon views and the immediate access to Highway 16, which is widely celebrated as the Sweet 16 for its incredible vistas. The local landscape is defined by towering limestone cliffs and rolling high-desert terrain, offering visitors a genuine sense of western solitude and vast, open skies.

Amenities & Park Features

Guests can choose from a variety of site types, including spacious pull-through sites that are designed to accommodate larger rigs and long trailers. Most sites offer full hookups with 30 or 50-amp service, along with access to well-maintained restrooms and a convenient laundry facility. For travelers visiting without an RV, the on-site cabins provide a rustic yet comfortable alternative. The park also features mature shade trees and reliable Wi-Fi for those who need to stay connected while traveling.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Adventure seekers and nature lovers often head directly to the nearby Tensleep Canyon for world-class rock climbing and extensive hiking trails. Anglers will find excellent fly-fishing opportunities in the local creeks and the numerous high-alpine lakes found within the Bighorn National Forest. Additionally, the Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site is just a short drive away, offering a fascinating look at ancient petroglyphs and local history in a stunning natural basin.

Who This Park Is Best For

This location is an ideal match for dedicated outdoor enthusiasts who want quick access to backcountry trails and high-altitude recreation. It is a fantastic choice for cross-country road trippers looking for a quiet, reliable stop between Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills of South Dakota. If you prefer a rustic, friendly environment where the primary focus is on the dramatic natural landscape, this park will feel like a perfect home on the road.

Horse pens were great, free trailer use, not too far from the big horns. Tim took us out on a couple of rides and he was fantastic and so patient/friendly. Campground owner Sean was not. Rude welcoming, told us we were in “junior high” for my friend wanting to have her camper facing ours so we could actually visit with one another. Then told my friend to look at him while he’s talking. We had just drove 10 hours and were very put off by rudeness that none of us deserved. Not to mention he accused us of not paying even though we had a card on file. I rarely leave poor reviews but I wouldn’t come back as long as he is the owner. No other issues, the facilities were fine which is the only reason I’m giving 3 stars.

Our second stay here didn’t disappoint. We haul horses in and enjoy the convenience of the pens and barn area. We have stayed in bunkhouse 2 for use of a full kitchen. It’s not fancy, but it’s an efficient set up. The campground is planted right at the end of town. You can walk to all the shops and the saloon (highly recommend a visit). Hauling out to some of the most excellent trails is the highlight of our stay, of course. The scenery never gets old and Shawn and Sherry are wonderful hosts at the campground. Tim and Shawn are great guides for trails if you need one.

We are driving through and saw this nice RV park with some shade. I told my husband to offer to pay to park there for a few hours while we went to the brewery. Mainly so we could plug in and cool our refrigerator, which we have been having issues with, and was told there’s plenty of parking at the brewery where you can turn around. I guess they didn’t want a little business and essentially they turned away business for the brewery as well. So we went on. Too bad 😢

It's not a very level place for rv, bring alot of levelers. Rest rooms were clean, but no doors on stalls just shower curtains so close to toilet seat that if you lean forward to wipe your head hits the shower curtain kind of ghetto, I no TMI

Stayed in our living quarters horse trailer in 2019 and currently planing a few more trips this year with the horses and our jeeps. Because of the unlimited riding trails, fantastic facilities, the location - so close to town, restaurants and bars, and most importantly the owners. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home.
