Amazing campground. Has some really beautiful campsites right by the water. There is alot of poison ivy around the campground. But other then that the place was really good.

So lovely mid April. Gentle breezes, coolish morning, warm afternoon. Many spaces, several on water...tons of shade. The campsite 140 and adjacent sites might want to be avoided as there is the brightest street light I've ever seen shining on it. I haven't walked the whole park tho so maybe others. We camped in 122...only tent I've seen but perfect for us. For RVs, spaces all look level. Bring food, nothing much around. Dollar General within 4 miles has ice and other simple needs. The Texaco just across the line in Mississippi is really dirty. But they sell lottery tickets...that's how I knew i wasn't in Alabama for a second!

Really enjoyed this campground. Was peaceful, enjoyed the barge traffic on the river. We didn't fish this trip, but the campers next to us fished daily and caught some nice catfish. Not a lot of campers in the park, sites are FHU which is nice as many COE campgrounds in AL don't have FHU.

We love going to this campground. The spots are spaced out enough to make it feel like you have your own "yard" and some privacy. The bath houses are normally clean. The only negative I can say about Pickensville is that we wished the bath houses had A/C. We have met some great people from all over while we have been there too. I recommend staying here if you are just passing through and need a place for the night or want a week or two vacation!

We just stayed at this campground for the third time. It is our favorite halfway stop on the way to visiting family, so we usually only stay a night at a time. One of the things we love the most about this campground is that the spots are so spacious. We also love the nature setting. The boardwalks over the water are so pretty to walk over. Would definitely recommend staying here. No complaints.

I don’t think there’s a “bad” site in the park! Huge back yards, plenty of play space. Something to see and explore everywhere. Excellent for biking and walking. Several FHU sites and riverfront sites with active traffic- barges, fishing boats and leisure craft. Several active and accessible camp hosts. All sites are pretty level. Few nearby attractions and shopping.

Spent 3 nights here at the end of August, and definitely enjoyed it. The hosts were extremely gracious and helpful. Thanks to them, we took a bike ride over to the lock/dam. Truly enjoyed the scenery and the exercise. There were sections of the Campground that were fairly deserted, and we were surprised by that. It really is a great place. Our site, Number 114, was ok, though we were a bit disappointed that there was so much growth between us and the river. As a result, it's not what we would consider a water view site. Before we checked out on Monday, we saw the housekeeping and landscaping crews come by to keep everything in order. We didn't use the bath house since our site had full hook ups, but checked it out and found it to be fine for those who might want or need to use it. It's only a few minutes to a nearby town where you can find a Dollar General in case you forgot to pack something. Overall, we enjoyed our time there, and will definitely go again.
