Fairly disappointed . I have been going for the last five years. Train ride was more expensive with less information. The guide was not very friendly and didn't give a fraction of the information provided on previous visits. Had to pay to feed the bison. Not as many animals. The restaurant said it opens at 11:00 daily. It was closed at 2:30 so my guest did not get to see or taste a buffalo burger. New things like taming a buffalo to ride are supposedly in the works, sluicing for gold, life size chess board makes it feel like a tourist trap vs the wildlife experience it once was.🙁

I started my visit with a one-hour horseback ride ($90), followed by a 30-minute train excursion ($20) that included an opportunity to feed the bison ($10). I booked the 3:00 p.m. horseback ride and the 4:30 p.m. train, which turned out to be perfect because I got to enjoy the experience during the sunset. The ranch has a rustic charm and is home to a wide variety of animals. The horseback ride took place in an open, relatively flat pasture enclosed by fencing, making it great for riders of all experience levels. The horses were calm, healthy, and clearly well cared for. My guide, Jim, was an older, very experienced rider who gave clear instructions on handling the horse and reins. Throughout the ride, he shared interesting facts about the local wildlife. We saw two coyotes circling a group of pronghorns, and Jim explained that although pronghorns are fast, their young are often the most vulnerable. We also spotted mule deer, prairie dogs, and rabbits. Jim even pointed out the difference between a rabbit burrow and a prairie dog den, shared information about the bison, took my photo at the end of the ride, and let me feed my horse, Smores, some treats. Overall, the horseback ride was a wonderful experience—definitely five stars. The “train” ride was on a homemade trolley with wooden benches. Since it’s unheated, dress warmly in cooler weather. The ride was rough and a bit noisy, and even though I asked the driver–narrator to speak up, it was still hard to hear him over the sound of the trolley—a complaint echoed by the family behind me. Despite that, getting to see and touch the bison up close was incredible. The train ride is mainly for feeding the bison, so be sure to buy the $10 feed with your ticket. I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle and friendly the bison were. Four stars. The property itself is impressively clean for a working ranch and offers bathrooms and showers. Along with bison and horses, you’ll find ostriches, peacocks, wild turkeys, and cats. One particularly curious female peacock even came over twice and pecked at my hand. Visitors may also spot native wildlife, so everyone’s experience will be a little different. The souvenir shop felt a bit overpriced—a single stick of jerky was $9.99, and the bison meat wasn’t local (it’s from South Dakota). The on-site bison burger food truck and restaurant are no longer open, so I’d recommend eating before you go. 😞 Plan to arrive 30–45 minutes early for any scheduled activities, since all paperwork is still done by hand. Overall, I had a fantastic time here and would definitely recommend the experience.

We went to have am outing on our drive back to Utah and it exceeded our expectations. The kids absolutely loved it. Feeding the buffalo was a highlight. The guy doing the commentary in the train made us all laugh. We loved exploring. There was free hot chocolate. It really was awesome and worth the price.

The people were great. It was convenient to our route and a great place for the dogs. LOVED the art work! (metal art and paintings). The gift shop and food truck (food was tasty, friendly service) were a huge bonus! They even had yummy gluten free options for me. I have Celiac and, had no issues. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this stop. We stayed in the RV so I'm not sure about the rooms and such...
