This was our second time staying at this campground. The staff are friendly, eager to help or answer any questions you may have. The Junction is a great place to congregate to have a few drinks and a bite to eat. Ashley and Mackenzie, hope I spelled those right, are really great bartenders and make you feel like they've known you for years. The campground is peaceful, well maintained, with the Mohican River running alongside. They also offer river trips, where the canoe livery will pick you up at the campground and you travel down the river, back to the campground. We plan on making this a yearly trip.

Our very first experience camping and this was a wonderful location! Owners and staff were great! You won't be disappointed! Since I cant leave more than one review, I will add to my original review. This past weekend, Oct 10, 11, 12, was our third trip here this year. This campground is clean, family friendly, and has a great place for eating, refreshments, and watching THE Ohio State Buckeyes! Not sure if we are going to continue camping, but if we do, we certainly will be back! Great experience camping on the river!

I chose Lost Horizons for my first ever camping experience and I am so happy I did! Kim and Angie were the first of many amazing people I met over the weekend! The property is beautiful and peaceful, service was top notch! I can’t wait to come back!! Thank you Kim and Angie for going above and beyond for me! If I could give 10 stars I would!

Lost Horizons Campground proved to be the ideal spot for a weekend of fun on the river with friends and our dogs. We launched our kayaks upstream and easily made our way back to one of our group's campsites. The campsites were spacious and well-maintained, and the staff made us feel right at home with their friendly demeanor. On Saturday night, a live band played, which really added to the lively atmosphere. My only suggestion for improvement would be regarding the restrooms— the smell was pretty off-putting, and I noticed there wasn’t a way to dry my hands after washing. While this isn’t usually a problem for me, I didn’t opt for a full hookup site this time around. Despite that, we’re definitely planning to return next year for another group kayak adventure!

Just spent the weekend here. We have camped here Since Smith ownership . The kids and adults LOVE standing in the river with water guns shooting the canoeing people ONLY if the people want sprayed. The kids ALWAYS ask before shooting. This weekend a VERY RUDE puffed out chest man (the owner) came over to our campsite and started yelling. You are NOT ALLOWED squirt guns in this campground. STOP SPRAYING CANOERS. This causes fights EVERY WEEKEND. NO SQUIRT GUNS ALLOWED ON THIS CAMPGROUND!!!! Put them AWAY or You WILL BE told to LEAVE He was so RUDE. and to find out He is the OWNER of the campsite. MAYBE he needs to take a lesson or MORE in business management and customer service. Maybe introduce yourself before going off the handle yelling at people and kids that were only having fun on a HOT day. We will NOT be Back. Maybe you should ban the people who cause the FIGHTS every weekend from your campground. It is a SHAME kids can't have a little fun anymore, with ALL involved including the conoers. Also, grass wasn't mowed. Bathroom were GROSS. And DON'T add a tent to your camper site, they charge $25.00per NIGHT for a tent added to your already Camper FEE. Seriously. I guess WE are paying for HIS BRINKLEY camper. Get off your High Horse Mister.... it's a campground and NOT the best one either.

Really enjoyed Lost Horizon Campground. We stayed at the Bear’s Den cabin for two nights. I thought it was expensive but what isn’t nowadays. Cabin is dated but very clean. We floated the river then spent some time at the AirBnb on the property with some other friends. We had a great time. The sights on the river were next level if you catch my drift lol. We had a ton of fun. Also caught some live acoustic music. Decent selection. People were very friendly. Would recommend for an adult weekend. Kids would enjoy as well but I’m happy I left mine home (not the campgrounds fault, I just think kids kill some vibes. Especially after 10 days at the beach we just finished 2 weeks ago with the child). Would recommend.

terrible experience. The girl working the camp store on June 21st at 6pm was rude as all get out. She was very condescending. We had cut off our wristbands after getting off the river as we were told we only needed them for the bus ride. I have a bad case of claustrophobia and things like wristbands trigger my paranoia, so I couldn't take anymore. Well security came to us and told us we had to keep wearing them. When I told this to the lady at the campstore(who refused to give me her name) She very condescendingly asked me why I would when think about cutting them off. I explained to her my phobia and that when we were handed the bands I asked what they were for, and i was told we needed then for the pavilion. When I went to the pavilion they said I only needed them to get onto the bus for the river trip. She scoffed at me and told me there would be a band replacement charge and that I only had 4 people on my site. I told her we had 6 and that I would go get the cut bands. When I came back with the bands she charged me for 2 extra people per night. When I asked her why she told me the site was only good for 2 adults and 2 kids. I explained to her that the other 2 kids were my kids and she said she didn't care that that was the policy. Completely rude and condescending the whole time. I don't appreciate being spoken to like I'm an idiot. Lost horizons boasts being a "family" campground, as it's in there name. But I'm currently being punished for having a family. I could understand if I needed more space because of the extra kids, but I'm providing the sleeping and living space. The electricity isn't affected by my 2 extra kids as my ac and electric use will be the same if I have 1 person or 10. My storage tanks are holding all their waste and I don't even use your dump station as the layout of it creates a traffic jam nightmare.. you can't even say I'm using extra water as I bring my own drinking water for my family. At best you could say my 2 extra kids might use more water for washing....... but not 5 bucks a day extra per kid. Also there's nothing to do there for kids. They have a run down basketball court and an volleyball court with the wrong sand. I understand paying more for larger families at campgrounds that have amenities, but that's not the case here. The only activity they seem to have is a random game of dodge the side by sides that fly in to utilize the bar. Real family place here. I'm not saying I need these people to entertain my kids, but don't charge me more for them and call yourself a family campground if you don't have anything for the kids to do, except play in the river that you don't own. In closing this "family" campground is anything but that. You punish a family by charging more for having a family. Your staff was inconsistent on their knowledge of your policies and the only one that seemed to know the policy was rude as hell. Not gonna lie, probably gonna look elsewhere for my river trip stays in the future. Just found out the rude employee was one of the owners.... yikes! If the owner treats people that way, how can I expect the employees to be any better

The updates so far are great, the pit stops now have flushable toilets and running water. Entertainment on the weekends. You can once again put an extra tent on your site for a small additional fee. The owners and employees are extremely nice. The downfalls, prices went up $20 a night, only allowed 4 adults and 4 children per site. Should be 8 total, not divided between adults and children. This could rule out a lot of amazing family campers! There was about 20 empty sites for Memorial Weekend, some were even river sites! I’ve NEVER seen that happen before! We will return and continue our camping trips as of right now.

Great place! Large sites. Beautiful view of the Mohican River. Loved the new camp store and the updated Landing. Updated bathrooms were a great improvement. Entertainment on the weekend. Cant wait to see what's in store for the future.

This was our first time camping at the Lost Horizons Campgrounds. But, from the friendly and attentive owners and staff, to the family friendly rules; from the beautifully kept grounds and buildings along the Mohican River, to the playground for kids; from the large camper spots, to the daily curbside trash pickup; from their convenient supplies of firewood and LP gas, to the snack shop with a verity of foods to purchase; from the camper’s pickup by a local canoe livery, to the entertainment we had on Memorial Day weekend; and so much more, we had a very enjoyable and peaceful time. Being new owners, I’m sure they have more plans to add to their property but as is, it is already great place!

What a fantastic change at the campground! We always had a good time when we stayed under the previous owners but with the changes and upgrades the new owners are making around the park we will most definitely book with Lost Horizon again! Angie was so kind and friendly! We will be back!!

We just camped here at Lost Horizons for the weekend. Nice friendly guy checked us in. I was impressed with the nice updates on the buildings in the campground. The campground was well manicured. Even the riverbanks were trimmed of weeds. We did have a good time. We felt the price was quite steep after you pay for your site, they charge the extras. $5.00 for each dog per night, $5 booking fee then on top of that you have to pay extra to keep the site you booked and paid for. $150 for 2 nights of camping for electric/water only. No amenities. Beautiful location, just not worth the price for us.
