The Park @ Port Mansfield

Overview

The Park @ Port Mansfield offers a modern and peaceful retreat in one of Texas’s most renowned coastal fishing destinations. As a refined addition to the local landscape, this RV park provides a clean and structured environment for travelers looking to explore the Laguna Madre. It successfully balances contemporary comforts with the rugged, natural beauty of the Gulf Coast, making it a reliable base camp for extended stays or weekend adventures. The atmosphere is quiet and welcoming, reflecting the slow-paced lifestyle of this unique seaside community.

Location & Surroundings

Located at the quiet end of Highway 186, Port Mansfield is a secluded coastal village famous for its unspoiled shorelines and world-class shallow-water fishing. The park sits within easy reach of the harbor, allowing guests to enjoy salt-air breezes and sightings of local wildlife. It is common to see white-tailed deer roaming freely through the town and near the park grounds. This location is perfect for those who want to escape the heavy crowds of larger coastal cities like Corpus Christi or South Padre Island.

Amenities & Park Features

This facility prioritizes functionality and cleanliness to ensure a stress-free stay for all guests. The park provides several essential features for modern travelers:

  • Spacious concrete pads with full 30/50 amp hookups.
  • Climate-controlled laundry and private shower suites.
  • High-speed WiFi and well-maintained paved roads for easy navigation.

These features, combined with professional management, make the park a reliable choice for those who want the comforts of home while being steps away from the water.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw for visitors is the legendary fishing in the Laguna Madre and Baffin Bay, where anglers seek out trophy-sized redfish and trout. Nature enthusiasts can visit the nearby Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge for exceptional birding opportunities and a chance to spot rare species. For a more relaxed pace, visitors often enjoy sunset walks along the docks or dining at local seafood restaurants that serve the daily catch from the local commercial fleet. The area is a true haven for outdoor recreation and coastal photography.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for serious anglers and outdoor enthusiasts who value a quiet, well-maintained environment over high-traffic resort amenities. It is a fantastic choice for winter Texans seeking a mild climate and a tight-knit community feel. Because of its wide pads and easy navigation, it is also well-suited for big-rig owners who want a hassle-free setup near some of the best water access in the state.

The pier is nice, the public restrooms are pretty nasty!

If you are a snowbird, love fishing, and want to get away from it all, this is the spot. Extremely clean and well kept with the amenities you need, laundromat and wifi. Great town to walk or bike around. Be prepared for deer and strong breezes! We stayed for a month in January and the only negative is the closest grocery store is 23 miles away in Raymondville.

Fishing in the channel in town is a little lacking, but there is a public dock to gish on, a couple of nice marinas, and nobody to hassle you. We rode our side by side in town with a Texas sticker, snd nobody paid us any mind. Good public parking by the marina. Only a short walk to the water. As for our stay in The Park at Port Mansfield rv park, it was perfect. They meticulously groom the entire park. I saw nothing lacking. The host Ray was super. We highly recommend it.

Great RV Park. It is very quiet. There are deer everywhere. The management has a nice coin-operated laundromat. We will return again for a weekend get-away.
