The Point RV Campground (Jackson County Park)

Overview

The Point RV Campground at Emigrant Lake offers a scenic retreat just outside the cultural hub of Ashland. As part of a larger county park system, this campground provides stunning panoramic views of the lake and the rolling southern Oregon hills. It serves as a well-maintained basecamp for travelers looking to balance high-desert recreation with the sophisticated arts and culinary scene of the nearby Rogue Valley.

Location & Surroundings

Situated on a picturesque peninsula, the campground is nestled within the 1,400-acre Emigrant Lake County Park. The landscape features rugged peaks and golden hillsides that define the local topography. Because of its elevated position on the point, many sites offer direct lines of sight to the water, providing a sense of openness and tranquility that is often hard to find in regional parks closer to the city center.

Amenities & Park Features

This facility is specifically designed for modern travelers, featuring 32 sites with full hookup services, including sewer, water, and 50-amp electricity. Each site is equipped with a level concrete pad, a fire ring, and a picnic table to facilitate comfortable outdoor living. Guests have access to essential facilities such as clean restrooms with showers and on-site laundry, ensuring a convenient stay for those exploring the region for an extended period.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the campground, visitors can enjoy the seasonal water slides and boat ramps located within the park boundaries. A short drive leads to downtown Ashland, home to the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the lush landscapes of Lithia Park. For outdoor enthusiasts, the proximity to the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument offers endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring unique geological formations just minutes from your RV.

Who This Park Is Best For

The Point is an ideal destination for families and outdoor lovers who enjoy water-based activities like fishing, kayaking, and boating. It also appeals strongly to RVers attending local theater productions who prefer a quiet, natural setting over an urban asphalt lot. If you appreciate well-spaced sites and easy access to both nature and culture, this campground is an excellent choice for your Southern Oregon itinerary.

Clean, quiet and spacious campground. Plenty of room around sites for kids to play and walk the dogs. We opted for the premium site with concrete pad on the corner and it was well worth it. The host, Steve, was very accommodating. He was always riding around on the golf cart making sure things were clean and picked up... he also came by in the evening and made a last call for firewood. Only thing missing was a dog park so you'll need to bring your outdoor pen. Also love that the leash rule was strictly enforced. Happy camping!

Very nice, clean and quiet. Most all RVs with a couple campervans. Not extremely private spots but good enough for a night to rest and continue on my journey.

We loved everything about this place. It was an easy Uber ride to Kauffman Stadium and the staff was very kind and helpful. Great playground, fire pits, and the campsites were simply outstanding.

I give this campground a high rating. For having full hookup, just under 170 dollars for 4 nights, have my own domain, unlike a hotel that would probably have less privacy and more restrictions, Im a Happy Camper. If we come back this way, we'll camp there again. Steve at guard shack was so nice as well. Oh!! And I've never seen such long picnic tables in my life!! Had to use 2 and overlap them to cover it. Haha

Be careful many of the spots on the outer ring slope downward. If you have a small rig it won't be an issue but with our 35' fifth wheel we couldn't have gotten into them. Very clean bathrooms! We camped at Fleming Park/Blue Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel. If you have a large rig consider getting a paved spot. We would definitely return. The staff is wonderful
