We stayed 3 nights in mid-October during mid week. We arrived a little after 4 pm and wasn’t sure where the office was. There was a woman in a truck who guided me to Frank’s store and said that if I had a reservation there should be an envelop with my name on it with a map of our site. The site that we were assigned C8 was small with an incline that it would be hard to level our RV Trailer. I called the office and luckily someone answered. The campground wasn’t busy and we were able to move to a much better spot B4. We had a full hookup so we didn’t use the bathroom. The campground was clean and surrounded by tall trees. It was quiet at night though it was close to a highway. We were originally planning to stay in Manzanita Campground but with the government shutdown, we decided to stay here. It is only 15 min to the entrance.

We stayed here in a small Class C RV in Sept. 2025. I would not go back! Dead deer hanging outside our picture window, and a bloody bear carcass on the truck next to us!! We were mortified! Absolutely stunned that an RV park in CA would allow a dead animal to hang outside for days. It is illegal in California to dress or store game in an RV park! Because OF COURSE IT IS!!!! The lady at registration warned us that our site, which we picked because of its location at the end corner of a row, was next to an open-sided shed for the hunters to store their dead game. When I reacted with disbelief and told her I was a vegetarian and we were here to see animals in the national park, she said, "Well, don't come here if you don't want to see dead deer during hunting season." I have no fricking idea when local hunting season starts -- that's like telling me I ought to know who won their team's game As other reviews have said, check in is ridiculous and we were made to feel like a burden. We arrived around 3:30pm and the office was closed. We did not have any envelope or instructions waiting for us. After a run-around and being sent by the diner to the lodge across the street, we were scolded that we should have had an envelope on the door and didn't need to cross the street. But no envelope was there; they didn't even have our reservation. They found it, but I don't recall an apology. So their system is definitely a mess.

Beautiful area. If you get a chance, stay here. It's labor day weekend and I was fortunate to get a slot here. We are all pretty close, but its nice here they have a small restaurant and market with patch of grass to play volleyball. Great for families. Across the street is the resort. With up scale dinning and a boutique. It's close to Lassen National Park.

We stayed in this place because it was only 15-min drive to Lassen NP south entrance. The room and shower were very small with no AC. It was hot so we had the fan on all night. There was no WiFi either. Luckily cellular reception for Verizon worked. We didn't eat at their restaurant. Instead we drove 20-min further to Chester for dinner and grocery shopping.

The room is small but clean with a rustic wood floor. A small fridge and Keurig coffe maker were in the room. Hower, only disposable plastic cups were provided which isn't good for hot coffee. Bathroom was recently renovated and clean. One downside is no Wifi available in the room. We had to hangout at the Bistro to have free Wifi via Starlink. I recommend the owner to put in Mesh Wifi so guests can get Wifi access in their rooms.

We found this gem while researching places to stay near Lassen. It's a 5-minute drive from the park's south entrance off highway-89. The Village at Highlands Ranch was perfect for us to explore Lassen and nearby fishing spots. The room was so clean and included a comfortable king bed with soft sheets. Having a TV, mini-fridge and microwave were luxuries we were not expecting and they made all the difference for us to pack hiking lunches. We dined at the Highlands Ranch resort one night, which was lovely and an easy walk across the street. The staff at the hotel were super lovely and helpful. Definitely would love to come back to the beauty of this place on the meadow overlooking the mountains!

We stayed at the Villages across from the resort. The room was very large and we appreciated the fridge, microwave and kurig. The location was gorgeous. Really beautiful. We were there at the end of May…they had just opened up. The road noise wasn’t bad that early in the season. The room had two barrel chairs but the seats are well past their retirement date so were uncomfortable. The room would easily fit a small dinning table and two chairs so you can eat a proper meal in your room, especially given that you have the means to prepare it. It's a shame there wasn't one. The bed was comfortable and the heater worked well. The shower had lots of hot water and good pressure. Frank's restaurant was convenient and they worked hard to keep up. But the burger was really barely mediocre. It's only saving grace was its $10 price tag. Same for the wings and patty melt.

We stayed in one of the drive up motel rooms. The rooms were up to date and modern, the shower was great- excellent pressure, and got hot quickly. The host was extremely helpful and made sure we were all set. Rooms are not spacious, but we're here for the outdoors and the location could not be better for beautiful LVNP!

Would be a 4 star review, however, the bathrooms are shared with the restaurant attached to the RV park office. We did not feel comfortable, nor felt like we had privacy, when taking showers knowing that customers from the restaurant can walk right into the bathrooms. The showers were only made private via a shower curtain….that were pretty much transparent. Most RV parks have stalls that enhance the privacy of their visitors. Also, while WiFi is provided it is basically non existent. One positive is, it is a close drive to the southern entrance of the park where majority of the hikes are located.

was cute and had an awesome view. Motel room had a strong chemical smell and no wifi. we could use the wifi from the store nearby but that never worked so we only used the restaurant wifi when we were eating. that should definitely be changed. room was okay. you could hear the neighbor cough through the wall

We stayed in the motel rooms toward the front of the property. They didn't look like much from the outside but were very roomy and comfortable on the inside. The bathroom had obviously been remodeled recently and was beautiful and very roomy. It was close to the entrance to Lassen National park, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. There's both a fast food place as well as a fancy restaurant on the premises. The only negatives are, there is very little storage or counter space for your belongings inside the room.

Great location if you plan on going to Lassen Volcanic National Park! The room was very clean and comfortable. It had a refrigerator and microwave. There is a heater, but no air conditioner, but with the evenings cooling down and a ceiling fan and opening the windows is was good sleeping. They have a little restaurant you can sit outside and eat or go across the street to the very nice restaurant for appetizers, dining and drinks. The Brie was amazing!
