The Village At North Fork

Overview

The Village At North Fork serves as a vital gateway for travelers exploring the rugged Idaho wilderness. This destination functions as a central hub for those navigating the scenic Salmon River corridor, offering a blend of essential services and a relaxed atmosphere. It is much more than a standard stopover; it is a basecamp for outdoor enthusiasts seeking the legendary "River of No Return" and the vast public lands that surround it.

Location & Surroundings

Situated at the confluence of the North Fork and the Main Salmon River, the park is nestled within the towering peaks of the Salmon-Challis National Forest. Its strategic location at the junction of Highway 93 and Salmon River Road makes it a convenient point for explorers. Travelers will find themselves immersed in a dramatic canyon landscape where wildlife sightings, such as bighorn sheep, elk, and bald eagles, are a regular occurrence for those with a watchful eye.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate various travelers with level full hookup sites that provide reliable water, sewer, and electric service. Convenience is a primary feature here, with several on-site resources available to guests:

  • General store and fuel station for food supplies and gas.
  • Clean laundry facilities for long-distance travelers.
  • An on-site cafe serving hot meals and coffee.
  • Pet-friendly areas for your four-legged companions.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor recreation is the heartbeat of this region, with the park being just steps away from world-class whitewater rafting and kayaking. The Salmon River is also a premier destination for Steelhead and Salmon fishing, attracting anglers from across the country. Land-based explorers can access nearby trails leading into the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness or enjoy a scenic drive along the river canyon to discover historic mining sites.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is ideal for adventurous RV travelers who prioritize access to wild rivers and backcountry trails over high-end resort amenities. It is a perfect fit for anglers and whitewater enthusiasts looking for a functional and friendly staging area. We needed a place to stay overnight last-minute before a rafting trip since our flight got delayed. I called and they were very easy to work with, had our room ready for us to easily get in after-hours, and we had a very wonderful short stay! I wasn’t expecting much with it being so out in the middle of nowhere but we had a hot shower, cable TV, and Wifi which was fantastic. Plus, they left very delicious homemade breakfast burritos in a mini fridge that we could heat up in the microwave before we left early that morning. So although we never interacted with anyone in-person, we had such great customer service and they helped make our stressful day turn into a wonderful cozy night!

It ok for one or two items! It’s a very expensive store. The clothing store next is very high priced and they’re not much on customer service nor are they friendly. I would never pay over a 100.00+ for a men shirt or sweatshirt!
