We loved the beautiful view of the site we camped at. It was very close to the field and Mountain View behind it. Very quiet the Saturday night we stayed. A convenient place to stay to explore Theodore National Park. The bathrooms are clean, new and nice, with an outdoor utility sink. No showers though.

Where to start...first time visit to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Cottonwood Campground is really one of the best campground we have seen in a national park. Don't go there with a big rig...we were okay with our class C motorhome but saw one class A struggling to make their way and access a campsite. They should have read the information closely before booking a site there. There are no services but flushable bathrooms are brand new or very recent and they are clean and well maintained. One thing that was not obvious was access to water for our RV. Well there is one station right at the entrace to fill an RV, so that was excellent. But there is no dump site and nothing around. We stopped at some gas stations on our way and despite googlemap telling us that were dumps sites, there was none...so plan ahead and empty way before getting to South or North sections of the park. Camphosts (Barbara) is friendly and knowledgeable. A hord of bisons visited our campground! wow!

Beautiful park but iffy for larger RVs. Our slides hit the trees and it was very difficult to get into even the pull through spots. If you have a smaller unit, I don’t think you’ll have a problem and it’s definitely worth the stay. For us, I would not come back to this campground. I would, however, come back to the park!

A nice peaceful campsite inside Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Great views and lots of wildlife nearby! We visited in late May, and there were still a few first-come-first-served campsites available at 4pm. The campsites are a little close together. The bathrooms are flush toilets and well maintained! It was $20 for a tent camping site for one night which seemed a little expensive.

Great campground. There are no hookups, but they do have the cleanest national park bathrooms I’ve ever seen. No showers though. If the spots are taken online make sure you pop by. The even numbers are all first come first serve.
