This KOA is what you would expect from a great campground; amenities, activities, nice lots, etc. But the best part is the people that own and run this place, from the front desk gal to the people in charge. Due to a domestic disturbance next to us when we move in, I asked those running the campground if they could move me to another site. No questions ask, they moved me to a secluded double site at no additional charge; and then promptly took care of the disturbance. My wife was having major back surgery and needed rehabilitation afterwards. I had amazon medical supplies delivered to the front office, and while I was at the hospital, the camp hosts delivered them to my motorhome because by the time I got back at night the camp store would have been closed. They also went out of their way to extend my visit and even move me to a different open site so I could stay after their season ended. Give these folks your business, they truly deserve it and will provide you with kind and caring hospitality. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA Holiday in a Motorhome. Unfortunately there are gravel roads in all directions leading to this KOA. You WILL get your rig dusty. Not in the campground but on the roads leading here. To stay on the gravel road the least distance, I highly recommend going to the center square(oval) in Thompson and taking the southern road into the KOA. Plenty of room and clearance for your big rig on the roads.

We spent one night at this KOA. It was very nice. We didn't use any facilities other than wifi and hookups. The grounds were clean. Roads were good. Sites were a good size and the ones in our area had nice shelters and outdoor furniture. I would recommend this place to others.

Gorgeous KOA far from a busy road which is rare. We didn’t get the opportunity to stay here. We are a member and asked to pay to dump but they don’t let you do that here x not sure why. Good source of extra income and nice feature for KOA members. We tried calling at least 5 times to ask ahead of driving there but they never answered the phone .

The grounds are nice and the staff was friendly, it’s also located near several wineries and distilleries. The main reason for giving 3 stars is the location. The main road ends and dumps you onto a gravel/dirt road for about 1 1/2 miles to get to the camp ground. The roads inside the campground are also gravel/dirt. So our truck and camper were COVERED with a thick layer of dust/dirt. I know it’s nit-picky, and may not matter to a lot of people, but if we had known the situation, we would have stayed somewhere else. Every time we went somewhere we had to travel down that road kicking up rocks and dirt.

This was our first time here and we enjoyed it. There is a large fishing pond and a smaller swimming pond. There is a heated swimming pool as well. The staff is very friendly and the sites are nice. The only minor complaint was, being a holiday weekend, we would’ve like to have the grass cut at our sites. Overall I give it 4.5 stars.

How do you destroy a beautiful campground in 6 months ? Just ask KOA Corporate . past owners had a 4 year waiting list for permanent sites … at least 45 seasonal campers left . Keep raising rates and taking away amenities Brilliant !

We really enjoyed our stay here! Had a Deluxe Cabin for 2 nights and it had many amenities included which made our packing much easier. Amenities aren't listed clearly on website. (Bedding,Towels, dishcloths, cups, plates, bowls, silverware, microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, toaster,(nostove),propane grill(they furnish propane,) dish soap, garbage bags, toilet paper, etc. Great kids park with a huge bouncing pillow. Large dog park! Swimming pool, ponds, beautiful views and landscaping. If you're into Halloween this place fills up and most everyone decorates their places! I guess it is a big deal for all ages! (We stayed Sept. 29-Oct1)

We had a little trouble checking in due to some communication breakdowns with the staff. However, the manager was amazing in dealing with that. He was apologetic, and worked to rectify the situation as soon as he became aware of it. The gentleman who was responsible for our camping area was congenial and very informative. He gave us great recommendations for local dining and beaches. The cabin is very secluded and has mature trees all around, giving a lot of shade and a wonderful atmosphere. Additionally there is raised picnic shelter just for the cabin, so even if it is raining you can enjoy the outdoors. Like any cabin, you need to bring your own bedding, but there is electricity, an AC unit, and a fridge. There is a lot to do at the campground making it very family friendly. The pool is nice and a good way to spend a few hours. Access to the campground is via an unpaved gravel road, and it is very close to several of the wineries in the area. We are looking forward to going back again!
