We have stayed at Thumper Pond Resort many times over the years, but haven’t been in several years. My children remember the place fondly and were very excited to go back to the waterpark. In years past, we have stayed in the standard double rooms and have been comfortable. This year, we decided to upgrade our stay to a suite, and I couldn’t regret that decision more. The room was disgusting. Asian beetles had checked in well before us and were making it clear it was there room and not ours. The bathroom was in desperate need of attention, or better yet, an actual renovation. Currently, it is being limped along to be serviceable, but it isn’t presentable. The shower valve has all but failed, if you’re patient and find just the right angle, you will get water. The wall paper throughout the room is peeling away and black mold is present in one corner of the wall near the ceiling. The faucet for the sink (which cannot be original) barely reaches so it is nearly impossible to wash your hands without playing bloody knuckles with the sink basin. The views were lovely overlooking the golf course, but the other distractions (including beetles all over the windows) made it challenging to enjoy the view. The service was fine. The front desk was apologetic and offered to send someone up to vacuum up the bugs, but nothing was actually done. The suites should be closed, renovated, and fumigated before another family stays in there. The bugs are one thing, the mold is entirely another. The pool, which is mostly why we come here, was good. The 15 minute safety checks (staff breaks) lasted at least 30 minutes, which was annoying, but tolerable. My kids swam and enjoyed themselves in the pool. Overall, I think 3 stars is too high, but my kids did enjoy the pool, so there is some grace because of that. As my family continues to grow older, and although we love the location, restaurant, golf course, and pool, I fear the hotel can no longer meet our needs.

The front desk and all other people working are seriously the rudest people I’ve ever encountered, as someone who works in hospitality I’d never leave a poor review out of principle but honestly this is the worst I’ve ever been treated. Food was good and the rooms are okay even tho it had several problems. But the way the staff treated us is nasty. I will never be back.

This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had at a hotel. This place used to be great, but not anymore. We were not informed that the pool has been closed for weeks. This was the whole reason we picked this resort! Upon arrival they said it was closed and would not offer any compensation or cancellation option other than the resort fee. In addition, the staff was extremely rude at the front desk and was not accommodating at all. On our second morning, the housekeeper entered our room without knocking and was yelling at us to get out. (She later admitted she thought we were supposed to depart that day, but was still not apologetic). The place is outdated and in need of serious work. The only good thing about this resort was the wedding we attended there. The staff did an excellent job with that.

Super quiet, beautiful scenery and nice sunset. You can see the golf courses from the campground. Nearby there is a hiking and walking trail. We have been here for months and we love this place, I recommend it. My little dog loves to run all over the place.

We had the most incredible wedding weekend ever. Friday night grooms dinner in the loft was perfect. It accommodated everyone perfectly, the food was delicious, and we were able to play a slideshow for everyone. So special. The getting ready room worked perfectly for all the girls. The ceremony set up was AMAZING. We got incredibly lucky with a beautiful day. Cocktail hour outside with the high top tables was perfect. Dinner was delicious. Those buns?!?!!! Omg!! And the staff!!!!!! I could go on and on. Lori was so easy to work with throughout the whole process. She answered all of my emails/questions in a timely manner, and I had a lot!!! Rachel was nothing but helpful, understanding, and kind. Angela, our bartender was so sweet. Everyone loved her, and her mom!!!!! Her mom (I never got her name) brought me over a fan when she noticed how hot I was sitting at the head table. We could not have asked for anything more. We got so many compliments on the venue, the food, the indoor/outdoor space, everything! Our day was PERFECT!!! I will forever be grateful for thumper pond. I only have great things to say.

Pool was nice, restaurant and bar had good food and service, staff was great. The hotel itself is definitely starting to show its age especially in the rooms. Our room wasn't in the best condition.

Had a great experience. The restaurant inside had great food and nice staff. The pool was fun and clean. They must have fixed the cold water situation that I read in a lot of reviews because it was normal temp. Would definitely go there again.

We’ve stayed at Thumper Pond every year for Spring Break and always feel welcome the minute we arrive. They have fixed the cold water in the pool, they’ve added a new games to the game room. You can tell they are making an effort and reading these reviews. Thanks for all the fun times over the years. We will be back again next spring!!

My husband and I really wanted this place to be great. We came for my son's first birthday and wanted to be able to come back every year. Unfortunately, there were a lot of little issues that all came up to overall make it very disappointing. Pool was too cold to use, as was the kiddie area, though the pool area was clean and the hot tub was great. Our room was nice, except it really needed some updates. Carpet, the tiles in the bathroom needed new grout, the tiles moved when you walked. The bed was horrible, and I typically don't have issues with that. The rooms were clean. The restaurant took an hour to get our food, two burgers that were cold and tasted like gas station burgers, cold fries, and cold chicken tenders that were decent. The staff, really lacked customer service skills. Everyone from the snotty front desk lady, to the housekeeper that complained about how much work she had to do when she was bringing towels. This place has great potential, and to whoever owns this place, you need to act fast. Start over. You need to hire an expert to turn this place around. Hire all new staff, including a new head chef who can create a new menu. Start filling the place up with reasonable room prices and start funneling money into repairs as soon as you can. The place was nearly empty when we were there. We will not be going back, but I'd hate to see such a place close. Sincerely, a tired mom who's back still hasn't recovered from our stay at thumper Pond, though we still had a fun time.

We arrived in July 2024 for what was supposed to be a 2 night stay and we stayed 0 nights. We showed up an hour before check in and the lady at the front desk was so rude, stating it wasn't yet time for us to check in, but she then gave us our keys? Our room was ok. It was nice in that it had a separate bedroom, but it was so dated and old and smelled like smoke. The elevator was iffy and possibly broken. We had a 3 & 5 year old with us and they were set on going to the pool. We went to the pool and it was FREEZING. We could stay for only 30 minutes and had to get out. There is nothing else to do here or in the town. We got grilled cheese at a cute little cafe, shopped at the 2 shops, and had dinner at the hotel restaurant (which was really good!) We then left and went to stay at a different resort. This place is not worth staying at for free and we will never be back.
