This is one of the best private campgrounds I've experienced. The grounds are quiet and the facilities are beautifully maintained. The host was friendly and helpful, and even lent a hand to repair our broken tent pole. We hope to be back and bring the kids next time.

A small, quiet place. The creek sounds are so relaxing. The free ice and firewood are nice extras. Sites are fairly well spaced out so you can have some privacy. Bathrooms were clean but nothing special. The most annoying thing was the camp road. I completely respect the owners right to set speed limits on his campground. But it is inexcusable to erect road hazards every 10 yards or so. These are not simple speed bumps. No. He puts ditches followed by bumps at odd angles to the road. The result is unless you cross them at 1/2 of a mile per hour, every vertical thing you might have in your camper will on its side or on the floor! So you end up taking 15-20 minutes on the short loop around the grounds and drive as much on the grass as possible. Very inhospitable.

Small, quiet place. My husband came here when he was young, so we decided to bring our boys. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our boys found some nice kids to play with and we felt safe letting them explore, swim, etc. We stayed at site 27. Right across from the fishing pond and beside the creek. We didn't bring our camper. This time we brought our tent, and the creek was so nice to listen to. We will definitely be back as soon as we can. ❤️

This is a quiet, family-friendly campground that is maintained in immaculate condition. Check-in was easy with friendly service, and they offer complimentary ice and firewood. The tent campsite was well-marked and included clean and drinkable running water, a fire pit with grill, picnic bench, and trash can with plenty of room for parking and the tent. We liked that the campsites are spacious enough where you do not feel like you are packed in with the other guests. The restrooms were extremely clean and well-stocked, and the showers had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The women's restroom had a baby changing table as well as a large sink reserved for baby baths. The grounds included access to fishing/swimming ponds as well as a small playground for kids. The owners were friendly, polite, and informative-you can tell that they take great pride in their campground! It was an excellent camping experience and we will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area!

The hosts were so friendly and awesome!! I was so surprised to get a camping spot the week of Memorial Day weekend! We got a tent site right between the bathrooms and playground. The bathrooms were very nice and clean, as was the shower and plenty of hot water. They have washer&dryer and drink machines! We were able to use the canoe and paddle boat at our leisure at no extra charge as well as fishing in both ponds. They didn’t charge for all the extra things that should be apart of camping so that made it a great trip for a single mom, ice was free and a bundle of firewood was included per night of your stay. Bring cash for extra firewood and earth worms! They came and picked up our trash each day , they made camping so pleasant and it was a beautiful spot tucked in the mountains of Whittier! We will definitely be back!

Hands down, one of the absolute best campgrounds I've ever experienced. The hosts, Dawn and Joe were the most accommodating and nicest folk ever, and made us feel like family. Good clean showers and toilets, and awesome, family friendly atmosphere. The campsites were spacious and well placed, and the pristine, natural beauty of the surrounding Smoky mountains was more than evident everywhere you look. At night, you fall asleep to the sound of the crystal clear river running alongside the property, and even though we originally booked for 2 nights, we ended up staying for a third ... it was that good! We will most definitely be returning repeatedly in the future. Side note* the place and its hosts were nothing like the couple negative reviews previously given, and I honestly believe they must have simply been miserable souls to perceive what they did. As for children activities ... if you can't keep your own kids busy and entertained in the beautiful outdoors, it's your own damn fault ... learn parenting skills.

This place is AMAZING! The staff and owners are down home country living people who have that southern hospitality. They keep the grounds on point. The bathroom and shower facilities were top notch. You can tell they spray for mosquitoes because they were non-existent! Don't be turned off because it is next to a road. That road dead ends up the mountains and the only people who drive it are residents. Its a 9 hour drive for us and we'll deffinately make that trip again!!!

Be aware -The campground owner Hawkeyes your every move. Owner complained about having 2 vehicles at the camp site. Complained about driving 5 mph where sign posted are 3 MPH. Complained about tent being to close to the next site over when it was clearly on our site. Charges kids 5 and old as an adult - extra $5. Counted heads to make sure we paid the correct fee. Complained when our dog barked just a very minor amount (day light hours). Owner walked around with a small liquor bottle in hand. Nice stream and clean site. Unfortunately will not be back due to owner.Visited on 7/29/21. Todd Bice Clemson SC

Camped here for two weeks and loved it!!! The campground has beautiful views, the sites are spacious, they have water, electric and even though there is no sewer it was easy to get honeywagon and go to dump station. They have two spring fed ponds and do not use any pesticides to take care of the surrounding area. One of the ponds is swimmable both can be fished in, you can eat fish or catch and release. The people that come here are all very nice and many have been coming for over 55 years. They have a playground and very safe large area to play. There was a steady stream of really nice kids and families for my little one to play with while we were there. We loved Dawn and Joe that run the campground and they were always around to chat and answer all sorts of questions. They are so knowledgeable about the mountain ecosystem in which they live and it shows in how well they care for area. This is such a beautiful place and we can't wait to come back!!! Keep up the good work guys I'm sure Betty is looking down on you with gratitude.
