Timothy Lake North RV Park
Overview
Timothy Lake North RV Park offers a serene and wooded retreat nestled within the heart of Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. As a sister property to the more active Timothy Lake South, this northern section provides a quieter, more relaxed environment for travelers who want to immerse themselves in nature without sacrificing modern comfort. The park is part of a larger resort community, ensuring guests have access to professional management and essential services while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of a forested campsite located far from traffic noise.
Location & Surroundings
Located in East Stroudsburg, PA, the park is perfectly positioned for those looking to explore the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The surrounding landscape is characterized by dense hardwoods and rolling hills, providing a beautiful backdrop for every season. Its proximity to major highways makes it an accessible escape from the hustle and bustle of East Coast cities, yet it feels worlds away once you enter the scenic Poconos region, where the air is fresh and the wildlife is abundant.
Amenities & Park Features
This park is designed with convenience in mind, offering full hookup RV sites that accommodate a range of rig sizes. On-site facilities include clean bathhouses, well-maintained laundry areas, and a community playground for families traveling with children. A standout feature is that guests at the North park typically enjoy reciprocal access to the extensive amenities at Timothy Lake South, which include a swimming pool and organized activities. This allows visitors to choose between the quiet privacy of their site and the social energy of the main resort area.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of adventures just a short drive from their campsite. The stunning Bushkill Falls, often called the Niagara of Pennsylvania, is a primary draw where several waterfalls and interconnected hiking trails await. For those who enjoy the water, the nearby Delaware River offers opportunities for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. During the winter months, visitors are close to the Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, making this a versatile destination for year-round mountain exploration and outdoor recreation.
Who This Park Is Best For
Timothy Lake North is ideal for RVers who prioritize a quiet home base over high-energy resort life. It is particularly well-suited for retirees, remote workers, and couples looking for a tranquil spot to relax under a canopy of trees. However, because of its proximity to neighboring amenities and major parks, it also serves as a great choice for nature-loving families who want a calm place to rest after a busy day of hiking, swimming, and exploring the diverse attractions of the East Stroudsburg area.

Timothy lake downfall began when they bussed in urban youth for the weekend .the youth were stealing n destroying anything and had no control. This was my favorite place to camp all year round in the 1990s. After too many issues I changed to Circle M campground.

Reserved a campsite specifically stating that I was tent camping, then drove 2 hrs to get there only to be told Nope no tent camping unless you also have an RV on site. Wasted my gas, got my hopes up, got my sons hopes up only to be dashed. I feel like I should receive some sort of compensation for the inconvenience of having to reschedule at a new campground last minute.

I love Timothy Lake North such a great campground. I was disappointed the pool was not open and the showers were ice cold in the bath house. I will be back though.

We’ve been coming here for three yrs it’s always a nice quiet place during the week. This go round I was not pleased about the assigned spots, ( they pick it) the first spot they assigned us was NO way for us to fit, and looked as if it was never used as a camp site. I called they gave us two other options one being in the front which was a no go since the park is close and we didn’t wanna hear kids early in the morning the second was in the middle of other campers which wasn’t bad just not what we pick when we come here. We usually pick an end spot that’s quiet and alone. Go back to picking your own spot or at least have the options of allowing us to pick our spot upon booking. I can’t say anything bad the bath houses as we have a travel trailer. The pool is being repaired atm, the grounds where we camp are clean, could use some mowing and trimming but all in all I like it here however not so sure if we will come back if the spot selection don’t change. If it’s a thousand trails change then that may affect our renewal of our membership. Update 5 other campers weren’t happy with the assigned spots either two of them had to move 3 times due to no water no room or no electricity. Really hope this changes asap. I’ll be calling a head prior to booking to check because I won’t drive 3plus hrs to not enjoy my down time nor continue to pay for something (assigned spot) that I don’t want.

The pool is out of service, the men’s bathhouse, very dirty, one of the toilets has been clogged for weeks. No one is cleaning the bathhouses. They put so much money into updating the bathhouse and they aren’t keeping them clean. What really drives me crazy the bath house door hasn’t had a door closer on it for years. The doors always open bugs like crazy. Very poor up keep by the staff.
