Triple 'J' RV Park

Overview

Triple 'J' RV Park offers a reliable and exceptionally well-maintained stop for travelers crossing the expansive plains of Kansas. Located conveniently along the Interstate 70 corridor, this park is highly regarded for its level pull-through sites and hospitable atmosphere. It serves as a practical, high-quality haven for long-distance road-trippers who need a quiet night's rest without deviating from their primary travel route across the Midwest. The management prioritizes a clean and organized environment, ensuring that every guest feels welcome from the moment they pull in.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the heart of Russell, KS, the park provides a classic Kansas setting characterized by wide-open horizons and stunning sunset views. It sits just a stone's throw from the highway, making it an ideal midway point between major hubs like Kansas City and Denver. Despite the proximity to the interstate, the park remains surprisingly peaceful. The immediate area features easy access to essential traveler services, including high-clearance fuel stations and local diners, all while being surrounded by the tranquil rural landscape of Western Kansas.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is specifically engineered with modern RVers in mind, featuring comprehensive utilities and spacious layouts. Every site is designed to accommodate large setups with ease. Amenities include:

  • Spacious gravel pads that minimize leveling issues for heavy coaches.
  • Full hookups at every site, offering both 30 and 50-amp electrical service.
  • Reliable high-speed internet access to help travelers stay connected on the road.

On-site facilities also include pristine shower suites and climate-controlled laundry rooms, which are frequently praised by guests for their cleanliness. The property is pet-friendly, providing dedicated spaces for walking dogs after a long day of driving.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While Russell is a quiet community, it offers several points of interest for those staying a bit longer. History buffs can explore the Deines Cultural Center or visit local sites that detail the region's rich oil and agricultural history. For nature lovers, Wilson Lake, often called the clearest lake in Kansas, is just a short drive away. It provides a beautiful backdrop for hiking, fishing, and viewing unique limestone cliffs, making it a perfect day trip for those who want to experience the natural beauty of the Smoky Hills region.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is best suited for cross-country travelers and big-rig owners seeking a hassle-free, dependable overnight stay. It appeals to those who value efficiency, cleanliness, and ease of navigation over resort-style recreational distractions. Because of the long sites and wide turns, it is a top choice for big rigs and those towing additional vehicles. Tried to cancel reservation 11 days in advance due to family emergency. Was told by Lana, the owner, that she was out of the office and would cancel it when she got into the office. Called and emailed the next day to confirm cancellation. No answer and not response to email. Called every day for several days and only got voicemail, left messages, and got no call back. Emailed several times with no reply as well. Sad that we had stayed there twice before with no problems. To not even get a callback is inexcusable. Since we travel from WY to OK we planned to stay there every trip I finally disputed the charge on my credit card and waiting for that resolution . We will never stay there again. Terrible customer service. Worst experience we have had with any RV Park.

Was just visiting a friend and for a single male this place is perfect. Kind of like a tiny house. Main floor has small kitchen with stove and fridge, then small bathroom with shower, also a decent sized bedroom as well. The the coolest part in my opinion, mainly because it made me feel like a kid again, but the wooden style ladder that led up to a second loft style bedroom.

About 1/2 way from KC to Denver Triple J is a GREAT RV spot. I met Lana tonight; she’s the owner. She has definitely invested into Triple J and somehow still keeps it affordable. It’s one of the best prices I’ve seen for a couple of years and full hookups! Seriously clean laundry and bathroom. If you don’t want to unhook, a short walk to Meridy’s Restaurant and Bar is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Short distance from I-70 but enough the highway noise isn’t bad, at least on the north side of the park. The Kansas sunrise and sunsets are primo view here too.

We were traveling with dogs so the dog park was a great addition. The park was clean and quiet. Our spot was a little unlevel (space 38) but that’s an easy fix. We would definitely stop again on our next trip that way.

We stop here on the way home coming from Colorado. The place is very peaceful, the site had a full hook up that was easy to set up. The caretaker was available when we arrived to show us the site. Amenities includes showers, wi-fi laundry a dog run, play ground. We decided to stay a second night and visited Wilson a very interesting town that is frozen in time. However there are that many places to eat except for fast food.
