THEY WILL TAKE YOU FOR EVERY NICKEL THEY CAN. Loud noise all night from cut-off road, which goes to ferry. Asked for pull thru RV site, so was charged lock site fee. Had INSIDE cats that do not leave camper, so was charged two pet fees. Before we arrived, I looked online and realized that our “pull thru” site was actually a MOTORHOME PULL IN, with grass and a bricked in rock garden blocking it from being pull thru. I called and pointed this out to them, but they did not want to lose the sale and told us it would work out. Because this was a motorhome pull in, the hook ups were on the wrong side for us to back in. When we got there I let them know that we had never paid extra for our inside cats anywhere else. The woman at the desk did not want to remove the fee, but another woman told her to take it off. I again pointed out that this was not a pull thru, and let them know that we would have to drive over the grass to unhook our truck and to leave. They advised that we should just drive over the grass. We knocked down two bricks on the rock garden and had to drive the RV over the grass to get out. We did our best to avoid those rocks, but our RV was just too big to avoid it. We had let them know the RV size on both calls, and in person on check in. My husband got a call advising us that WE WERE BEING CHARGED $250 for driving over the grass and some rocks. I called offering to split that amount with them since they were the one who put us there. The best they would do was to refund my $39 lock site fee since they did not give me a pull thru as originally agreed. I will be letting the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU and CHAMBER OF COMMERCE know about this. BTW- THOSE CONVERSATIONS REFERENCED IN THEIR RESPONSE NEVER TOOK PLACE.

This is where we stay every time we come to Port A! Its a great location with awesome staff. Everyone here is always super friendly. The golf carts are an amazing deal. We love the heated salt water pools. Its incredibly pet friendly, so we can bring our pups when we want. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot, so book it and enjoy your Island Time!

My wife and I have spent the winter at Tropic Island for several years, September thru March. We stay in one of the cottages and absolutely love it. Our home away from home. The staff is excellent and makes every effort to accommodate their guests. The location is perfect and is within walking distance of food and attractions. We highly recommend Tropic Island resort to anyone wanting to experience Island Life for a weekend or and extended stay. This was our first time staying at Tropic Island Resort. The location was great on Cut Off road and the staff was very friendly and professional. The rooms were very clean, and the bed was big and comfortable. We come down to Port A usually a couple times a year and have been coming for years. We will absolutely stay here again. Thanks for making it a great stay!

We have stayed here for years! We have always loved it. We travel with our dogs, so this place is perfect! The on site management team is friendly and helpful with whatever we have ever needed. Ashley and James really helped us out on our last trip earlier this month. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. We highly recommend Tropic Island Resort when visiting Port A!!

This was not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, the room was nice and big and clean. But there just aren't that many amenities that the hotel has to offer. Which I knew going in, but the one thing I was looking forward to was the pool and hot tub but it was closed. The website mentions that there are two pools but they don't say that the other pool is at a different RV park like a block away. So really not close enough to be available to guests at the hotel. They were also pretty stingy with the coffee when I asked for more for the next morning I was told I could have "one more". Overall I had a pretty decent weekend but next time I go to Port A I will probably stay somewhere else.

We stayed here 2 years ago, were impressed and returned. Under new management we were not impressed how poorly managed it has become. The grounds were not clean, the bathrooms were run down with lots of mold in the showers. Too much money for what you get

A great place to stay! Super close to the beach and within 5 minutes of most of Port A attractions/restaurants/stores. Loved our stay!

Tropic Island Resort is our home away from home. We have stayed in the RV park every summer for the last 5 years. We have met so many wonderful people that we call friends and have created the best memories. Ashley and James and the entire office staff are like family. We love being able to get the best ice cream shakes in town when we are there at Peyton’s! This park is the best on the island! We look forward to next summer!

Too many things to say I love about it. First the room is dope I love we have our own for sure parking The rooms are great have their own patio area to chill. Great size two bedrooms, and plenty of accommodations. The pool area is dope Big with several pools and hot tubs They have little games for entertainment which is cool They GM was super nice and her husband which we had the luxury I'd meeting at the pool area. Reasonably priced for two night. Defiant recommend and we have only been there for a few hours. Don't pass this place up your missing out. 😀
