Want Easy in and Out? Our sites are Long, Level & Yes Pull-Through!
As of April 28, 2022, the Simoneau family took ownership of this fun, historic campground. While traveling the long stretch of I-40 between Amarillo and Albuquerque, you'll come across an oasis known as Tucumcari / Route 66 KOA. This KOA Journey campground has all the conveniences needed for an overnight stop, including long, level Pull-Thru RV Sites with updated electric service. All full-hookup sites include cable TV, and every site has a strong Wi-Fi signal. No RV? Stay in a cozy Cabin with spectacular views of Tucumcari Mountain. Dogs love the shaded Kamp K9. Get fueled up with dinner or breakfast delivered to your site or dine at the cafe (coming back soon!). Cruise down Historic Route 66 to see neon lights and wonderful murals or just relax by the pool. Pool: Memorial Weekend (we hope) - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 100 feet. Your hosts: the Simoneau family.

Loved the morning breakfast - nice touch! Place might be under new management - some areas need some work. Some pads were clearly not being used and neglected. Thumbs down on their dog park but plenty of room to walk a dog - trouble is there were a few tarantulas and I swear I heard a rattlesnake so had to be on careful watch. With improvements this could be a nice park.

Nice, small, clean campground right off I 40. Very friendly staff. Sites are close but very quiet. The town of Tucumcari was on old Route 66. Nice neon signs and sites. It was like stepping back into the 50’s or 60’s. We ate at Del’s Restaurant. Good service and food.

The campground sits below a small hill with a road on it. You don't get the noise from the interstate. The facilities are clean and well kept. The young lady in the office was polite and helpful, they were shorthanded the day we were there, so we didn't the usual KOA escort to the site, but it was OK, we were there early enough to not have an issue. I would stay again.
