We were removed from the waitlist for long term stay due to our kids being in school and not being allowed to use the address for school registration due to "owner liability".... I was not even planning on using the address, as selecting 'RV Living' on the school paperwork lets you use an alternate mailing address. They didn't even call to discuss the reason we were removed from the wait list, didn't give us an opportunity to explain that. We found out by calling for a status. We were nothing but respectful and nice and I guess because we have 2 kids we are not allowed to stay.. Discriminating park, don't stay if you have kids, they don't like them.

A Tranquil High Desert Escape in the Sandia Mountains The Turquoise Trail Campground is truly a gem, offering the perfect blend of high-desert tranquility and convenient access to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Nestled at 7,000 feet in the cool, pinon- and cedar-covered forests of the Sandia Mountains, this spot immediately makes you feel "7,000' Above Stress Level," just as they advertise. What stands out most is the atmosphere. The campground is quiet, well-maintained, and features charming, clearly separated areas for RVs (many with full hookups) and tent campers. The tent sites, tucked away in their own wooded loops, provide a peaceful, secluded experience with dedicated access to clean restrooms and hot showers. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming, quaint atmosphere. Every site comes with a picnic table, making those evening cookouts under the vast New Mexico night sky a memorable experience. Beyond the campsite itself, the location is unbeatable. You are right on the historic Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway, with world-class hiking and riding trails practically at your doorstep. Plus, it’s only a quick 15-minute drive down the mountain to Albuquerque for any supplies or city exploration you need, while Santa Fe is just a beautiful 50-minute scenic drive away. For travelers seeking a peaceful, well-serviced base camp for exploring central New Mexico's mountains and culture, Turquoise Trail Campground is highly recommended. It’s an authentic and refreshing escape.

Google maps brought us over the river and through the woods to this place. The surrounding area is beautiful but for us it was difficult to get here. The staff was nice and welcoming. The camp sites are small and close so there is zero privacy unless you keep all the blinds closed in your camper. The wifi didn’t work well so no t.v. for us either. Also, no firepit unless you rent them, but we knew that up front. Add in, they charged three times the original cost so we feel like we were price gouged due to the Balloon Fiesta. We don't feel like the price supports the layout and space of this park.

This is our second time camping here, and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. It's conveniently located outside Albuquerque and about an hour from Santa Fe. Even though it's right off the highway you can't tell. It's very relaxing and has beautiful views, with well maintained showers and bathrooms. Rustic as you would expect from camp bathrooms, but clean and stocked. I felt safe walking to them at 4 am (by necessity), as there is enough lighting and fellow campers were respectful and friendly. Yes, showers are timed but the 7 minutes really is enough for a basic shower.

Stayed in RV park but there is tent camping available and a couple of rustic cabins too. The dish wash area was a plus for us. Didn't use the tokens for the 7 minute timed shower but would have if we had stayed longer. Women's area was pretty spacious and clean. They have a cell phone charging station that would be convenient if you were tent camping. The area is lovely although they got 4 inches of hail a few days before we stayed (mid July) so always check weather. It was a quiet campground even tho there are a lot of full time park dwellers. We were just testing out our new camper to see what all we might need/forgot. All in all, nice stay!

We had sites T1 and T2. T1 is the electrical site. Our party consisted of three adults and three dogs. It was an amazing stay and we can't wait to stay again. The showers last seven minutes and there are three of them located on the property. The bath house was kept clean and stocked. The dishwashing station was a fantastic addition to the camp ground.

Will Not Be Returning: (This is not a recreational camper friendly location, it's a trailer park.) Cons: The site we were in was the smallest site we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few different locations around the state and across the country. For what we paid for two nights, we definitely did not get our money's worth. We arrived on Friday evening and setup our camp (trailer, easy-up over site picnic table, and chairs w/ propane fire pit as instructed by camp regulations.) and Saturday morning by 11am, the management team came to our site to inform us that the camp owner had driven by our site and wanted us to take our easy-up down because they do not allow "tents" in the RV side. (The site had no coverage for any shade protection from the NM sunshine.) Their reasoning was that "tents and easy-ups require stakes and there are buried electrical lines that could be hit." and that "if others see (y)our easy-up, they may think they can do it too." This is an obvious lie as buried electrical lines are 2' to code and tent or easy up stakes would not be a threat to striking them. We stated that we had not seen a rule about "no tent or easy-ups allowed in the RV area" (which we then verified once again upon returning home and it is not stated on their website anywhere.) but we were dismissed and told to take it down (mid-day, 100+ degrees, clear skies). This forced us to spend the remainder of our time at the campground indoors to avoid the heat, rather than enjoy our stay while camping outside as intended. (For the record: the tenants in the site directly across from us had a fully established yard setup with a fence enclosure, a staked lantern, and an easy-up w/sidings. Which tells us clearly that they prefer long-term rentals, rather than the recreational camper.) The campground reeked of sewage (some sites are full hook-up w/ sewer dump) and marijuana. As a family with two small children, this was definitely not appreciated. The garbage dumpsters were overflowing the entire weekend. Pros: The location of the RV park was very convenient for us as it is close to Abq. and to relatives who live close by. The site we were in (#27) was quite level and required very little effort to level the trailer. It was a pull through spot which is always nice (though not necessary for a 20' trailer) but was only enough room for the trailer and a vehicle. (We have an SUV... if we had a truck, there would barely have been sufficient room.) The proximity of the site to the restrooms was convenient (2 min walk) and they were kept clean. We did not use the showers though so we cannot speak to the "token system" that they have the showers operating by. We were looking for a conveniently located park to be able to use for our annual shakedown or just for when we wanted to stay close to home. Unfortunately, this will not be it.

My husband and I were here just for one night for a fun weekend camping trip! Would definitely come again. The managers/owners here are kind and helpful. The park is in a gorgeous, green area that is convenient to ABQ, and there are fun ornamental touches throughout the campground. It was also very quiet—quiet campers, no highway noise. I didn't try the shower token system, but it might be difficult to wash and rinse in the allotted 5 minutes, especially if you have a lot of hair! That being said, the bathrooms were very very nice and clean (NO smell and blue soapy toilet water!) and a picnic table at every tent site! My favorite amenity was the dishwashing station—a game changer for sure!!! And for the record, we chose tent spot T-35 and felt that it was a good balance of proximity to the bathroom/dish station, while still providing some privacy from other neighborhood camp sites.

Two stars because the bathroom was fantastic: clean, heated, a place to charge my phone. That was awesome. Other than that though it's $30 for neighbors that were 20 feet away from me and my site backed up to piles of bricks and other random ugly debris. Not a very pretty or peaceful spot. And they said my spot was one of the more private ones. Overall it's one of the only campsites I've ever had to pay for and by far the worst.

The managers/owners here are kind and helpful. The park is in a gorgeous area that is convenient to ABQ, and there are fun ornamental touches throughout the campground. It was also very quiet - quiet campers, no highway noise. Unfortunately the sites are very close together; of course this is true of private campgrounds in general. I didn't try the shower token system, but it might be difficult to wash and rinse in the allotted 5 minutes, especially if you have a lot of hair 🤔. Would I return? I would probably look harder for a public campground since there tends to be more space at those places.

Stayed here for three months in our 34ft fifth wheel with full hookups. Nice pull-through spot. Very homey nice people that help each other out where they can and just in general care about their customers and how their park looks. Lots of full timers however it’s not in the least bit trashy. Autumn and management here are fantastic and tried really hard to find me a spot in short notice. If I were to stay near Albuquerque or cedar crest again I would come here, $500 plus electric. Going to miss being here.

We arrived around 10:30pm, looking for a place for 1 night as we passed through. We could not book online so drove to the site and arrived to this message. It would have been nice if they could have posted this online. Guess we will keep driving for the night. :/

We stayed during the Balloon festival. The staff on the phone was great at getting our reservation for a camping spot and answering all of our questions. It was very quite and peaceful. The grill provided was a bit small but we got our hot dogs cooked on it. Set up camp and left for the day to attend the balloon festival. No one bothered our campsite or anything we had while we where gone. Bathrooms were nice and could probably use an update but not a huge deal. Dumpsters and recycling bins where available too. Would definitely camp here again.

We booked our reservation only a couple of days before we we planned to arrive, during Balloon Fiesta, and were warmly welcomed. The woman on the phone (Tammy i believe), was incredible. She offered fabulous directions and she was so excited for us to be coming. When we arrived, we were given the opportunity to choose our campsite since we had arrived so early. The campsite was immaculate. Scenery was gorgeous. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. We absolutely loved the campgrounds. Check the wind advisory when heading to Cedar Crest, it can get crazy! It was relentless all weekend. But camp here and you'll still have a wonderful trip.
