Twin Bear Park (Bayfield County Park)
Overview
Twin Bear Park offers a quintessential Northwoods camping experience nestled within the lush landscapes of Bayfield County. This county-managed park serves as a gateway to the Pike Lake Chain, providing travelers with a serene environment that balances natural beauty with necessary comforts. It is a well-maintained destination where the towering hardwoods and pines create a secluded atmosphere, making it a popular choice for those looking to disconnect and enjoy the quiet rhythms of northern Wisconsin.
Location & Surroundings
The park is situated just a short drive south of Iron River, placing visitors in the heart of a premier recreation corridor. Surrounded by the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, the setting is defined by crystal-clear waters and rolling forested hills. The highlight of the location is its direct frontage on Twin Bear Lake, which connects to several other lakes in the chain. This provides a sprawling aquatic playground for guests who enjoy navigating narrow channels and expansive bays.
Amenities & Park Features
Twin Bear Park is equipped to accommodate modern RVs while maintaining its rustic, natural charm. The campground features sites with 50-amp electrical service, catering to larger rigs and trailers looking for a reliable power supply. On-site facilities include a clean bathhouse with hot showers and a sanitary dump station for convenience. Water enthusiasts will specifically appreciate the paved boat launch and seasonal docks, which make it easy to transition from the campsite to the lake for a day of fishing or exploration.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor recreation is the primary draw for this scenic region. Anglers often frequent the area to test their luck catching musky, walleye, and bass in the well-stocked waters. Beyond the shoreline, the surrounding area is crisscrossed with trails perfect for hiking or motorized sports. A scenic drive north leads to the shores of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, where visitors can explore sea caves and historic lighthouses. Local dining and shopping in Iron River provide a touch of small-town hospitality just minutes away.

Beautiful campgrounds. We had a campsite next to the lake with a wonderful view. So peaceful. We kayaked on the lake, the water was so clear you could see the bottom. We will camp here again.

We had stayed at Twin Bear Campground for a weekend. We had an amazing time with an amazing view of the lake. The owners of the location are SUPER friendly and helpful. We got stuck at a boat launch and we needed help getting out, and they came to help us no problem! We would definitely come back as we felt super comfortable and safe there. They also offer free wifi at the campground! The showers and bathrooms are super clean as well! Overall, we loved the place and had a fantastic time!! Definitely recommend :)

This campground is absolutely amazing! Brenda is very friendly. If you make a reservation to a site that you've never been to, and you want to check out other available sites better suited for your set up, Brenda is very considerate. There is bathrooms, and showers available. This is one of those old fashioned type of campground that we need in this day and age!

I ABSOLUTELY am in LOVE with this place!!! First off, Brenda is beyond AWESOME and AMAZING!!! She is so friendly and helpful with whatever you need or if you forget something…(like we did). She doesn’t get enough credit for all that she does at the campground!!! Our campsites (we stayed twice) were beautiful and perfect for setting up a tent and having a cozy campfire!!! The bathrooms and showers are super clean and super conveniently located!!! I could keep going on and on and on…highly recommended staying and we will return multiple times because of Brenda and the wonderful times we had staying at the campground!!! Thanks again Brenda for EVERYTHING…can’t wait to make a reservation next spring 😃
