The campsites were well maintained with very level parking areas. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. Even though the campground was full, it was still reasonably quiet and peaceful. I would absolutely camp here again!

The hardest working camp hosts (Mike?) I have met. Always clean bathrooms even when the camp was full. The location is hard to beat with the proximity to Mammoth yet tucked away at Twin Lakes. Just please be a respectful visitor and store your food properly in the provided bear boxes. Bears live here and this is their home. Respect them.

Despite the rain, thunder, lighting and hail we had such a great time. The camp sites are so well taken care of. We have been camping all over in many states and by far the best and cleanest bathrooms. The camp hosts Ralph and Virgina are so helpful and nice. We needed a fire starter for the camp fire and they gave us their own personal. Super kid friendly there were plenty of kids our kids made friends with. Definitely coming back. Mammoth is one of our favorite places but the cleanliness, great camp hosts and not too many bugs were great. We went end of August. Adventure Awaits!

What a great campground. Peaceful, quiet and just enough. Bike paths are great and mtn bike trails easily accessible. Hiking paths if you choose. Check in a breeze with wonderful "southern" hospitality from the camp hosts. Dog friendly and wonderful folks to talk with while you're strolling along. We had sun for solar and never needed the generator. Though not all spots are sunny. We saw a deer in our campsight arriving late. So nice to see. The next day as we were going out we saw a small bear cub near tamarak bike kayak rentals. The staff was chasing him away. Lots of posting for the bears btw. Sad, the tamale lady has retired from the general store. We already planning our return.

Our site was #79. Beautiful area- campground has a ton of biking trails and easy access to town via the trolley/shuttle- where you can even bring your bike. Camp Hosts are A+- very visible and the restrooms are spotless. (Bring a paper towel or hand towel though, nothing to dry your hands ) Site 79 is over 50 feet long and lists that it can accommodate a 47 ft RV. No way in this world that could ever happen. Similar to another reviewers notes, the site situation is tenuous at best when your rig is over 25-28 ft. Tight turns, decorative boulders and logs abound and make it very difficult to maneuver into a spot. The website didn’t mention width, so I will…. Site 79 is about 13.5 feet wide. Note- there are trees that butt up against this width. We pull a 33 ft 5th wheel and my husband is a rock-star at parking. We pulled up to the site and he immediately said, “not sure this is going to work”. Boulders straight across from the site prohibited being able to pull forward and then maneuver into without whacking a tree (which, by the way, there is evidence on the trees that others have done that very thing. ) we have slides on both sides- and when extended our rig is 13’ 2” wide. Careful adjustment to be sure our slides were positioned where there wasn’t a tree was a challenge- as were the logs surrounding the site- took us over an hour to maneuver into this tight squeeze. Unless you want to challenge your parking skills- or potentially your relationship with your partner, I would not suggest #79 for the length the website suggests it can accomodate. That said, it’s a great Site with the BBQ/fire pit behind it as well as a flat spot for a tent, bear box and picnic table. Truth be told - while we absolutely loved this campground, it is not well laid out for RVs and certainly nothing over 30’ at most. Photos posted of both before and after slides out - for perspective - as well as the boulders Yes, there is water and a dump station, but all were encouraged to use the campground “New Shady Rest” in town to fill and dump because The location at Twin Lakes blocks traffic. We used the New Shady Rest facilities to fill water and dump and it was fine and we didn’t experience any wait times.
