Twin Rivers Cabins & RV Park

Overview

Twin Rivers Cabins & RV Park offers a serene escape where the high desert meets the mountains. Located at the scenic confluence of the Conejos River and the San Antonio River, this park provides a unique waterfront setting for travelers exploring Southern Colorado. It is a place where the sound of rushing water replaces highway noise, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a genuine nature-focused retreat in the expansive San Luis Valley.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just outside the historic town of Antonito, the park sits at an elevation of nearly 8,000 feet. The surrounding landscape is characterized by wide-open vistas, sagebrush-covered plains, and the distant peaks of the San Juan Mountains. Its position near the New Mexico border makes it a strategic stop for travelers moving between the two states, offering a cooler, high-altitude climate that is refreshing during the peak summer months.

Amenities & Park Features

The park is designed to accommodate various setups, offering spacious full-hookup RV sites with 30 and 50-amp service. Many sites are designed as pull-throughs, simplifying arrival for larger rigs. On-site facilities include essentials like clean restrooms, showers, and laundry services to ensure a comfortable stay. The primary highlight of the property is the direct river access, allowing guests to enjoy world-class fly fishing or simply relax by the water's edge just steps from their site.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The most popular draw in the area is the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, a historic narrow-gauge steam train that departs directly from Antonito. Nature enthusiasts will find endless opportunities in the nearby Rio Grande National Forest, which offers rugged hiking trails and wildlife viewing. Additionally, the unique architecture of Cano’s Castle and the local artisan culture in town provide plenty of exploration within a short drive of the park.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is a perfect fit for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize access to pristine waterways and quiet evenings. It is also a top choice for history buffs and train photographers visiting for the local railroad events. Because of its peaceful atmosphere and lack of commercial clutter, it is best for RVers who prefer a relaxed, rustic environment over a highly programmed resort experience.

This is our 3rd time to stay here, very reasonably priced, owner are very nice and will talk your leg off. Bathhouse is older but nice after a long day out and about. Lots of open ground to back in or pull in your rig, wifi throughout the campground. 10 minutes to grocery and fuel.

The towns around here are not great, but there is a grocery store, family dollar, and a restaurant in Antonito 7 miles away. There is plenty to do as far as outdoor activities go. It's a nice quiet rv spot. There's a beautiful river running through the park. The owners are great. We had a lovely stay.

Fun, friendly and easily accessible little camping park. I highly recommend one of the family cabins that you can get to across the footbridge from the rest of the camp. During our stay the footbridge needed a little attention as the walking path across it was a bit squishy. Other than that I have nothing but positive remarks about this fun little campground. It's managed and operated by a wonderful couple. They're very friendly and helpful to guests. I stayed as part of a work group retreat. Their Pavilion worked wonderfully while we worked on strategic planning for next school year. The campground was a wonderful setting to bring families!

This is a great RV park. The sights are grass with room between you and your neighbor and can accommodate large rvs. We will stay there again.

A wonderful and relaxing experience. The owners are the sweetest folks ever! I was in Cabin 5 which is one of the older cabins. It was small but plenty big enough for 2 people. It was extremely clean and the kitchen well stocked. The Conejos River was right behind the cabin. If you're looking for a friendly and quiet place to stay, this is it.
