The place was nice. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is also cheaper to stay at. I seen reviews calling uncle John creepy. Although he is different, I would say he is just a very friendly person that loves to meet new people. He was very helpful in recommending different place to go while we we there.

Leading up to our stay at Uncle John’s, we had good communication and friendly dispositions from the staff. Unfortunately, the day of our arrival things took a turn, the staff contacted us and asked about our arrival time and had an unfriendly disposition. Upon our arrival, Uncle John was friendly and helpful in getting us to a site, yet the female staff was rude, crude and unwelcoming. The bathroom facilities were dirty, and appeared to have not been serviced all season. I’ve been on construction sites with Portapotties in better conditions. The site itself was nice and on a great creek for fishing.

Friendly atmosphere and great location for Steelhead. Great staff.... UNCLE JOHN! And he means it. Great to the kids and all-around nice guy. Thanks for all your help. And tell the Mrs the same. Justin, Jacob, and Josh.

We had a great & comfortable stay in cabin 9. For the price I have not found better. Grounds are very well kept. Fridge and microwave was clean as was the rest of the cabin. And to top it off, the owners are very friendly and looking for any way to make your stay enjoyable.

Love hanging out with folks and fishing in this area! Did a little Tenkara fishing last visit with some friends and we had a wonderful time!

Family friendly and very accommodating staff, Uncle John’s Campground is the place to be for any outdoorsman’s adventures, some of the best fishing I have ever done and the memories made at this destination last for a lifetime. They even have free snack days and make sure you are comfortable and all needs are met on a daily basis. Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could.

My family does fish up here a lot and we’ve been camping here for years. John is very very nice. Somebody woke me up by knocking on the door at 9 a.m. to have us pay because the night before she didn’t feel like it. I don’t like to complain however , cleanliness the last few times we’ve been here have been horrible. There was nothing at all in the girls bathroom to dry your hands, bee nests in the guys bathroom, and the portable restrooms and restrooms were disgusting. There is dust and Cobb Webb’s everywhere and they smell like they haven’t been cleaned for years. We weren’t even able to sit at our picnic table because the portable restroom smelt so bad and it was literally right behind us. If you stay in any of the cabins all you smell is the portable restrooms because they are less then 10 feet away from every cabin and there is no vent at all for them. There is nothing but flies and mosquitoes. The pipe for the vent is only like 2 inches high off the top of the portable bathroom. The cabins were really dusty and always so hot. When we went into the cabins for the first time there was a garbage can with no bag in it but full of garbage. Accidentally moved the bed a little bit and found dry hard food. There’s no fans only heaters. There is nothing for children to do unless you bring your own stuff to play with. Everything is broken down at the “playground.” It’s not really even a playground, it’s a slide and a broken volleyball net. Prices are way cheaper online but are really not. Website is really old and needs updated. For the price for the cabins you could stay somewhere really nice and clean. Maybe if the prices were way lower or it was actually clean then it’d be understandable. If you’re so “understaffed” hire a cleaning business. Then people would complain less and you’d make way more money.

We paid $150 for 2 nights. When we got in our cabin, there was mold in the fridge. It wasn’t cleaned at all, and there was at least 1 stain per bed if not more. In the back “bedroom there were 3 various sizes of mattresses shoved into a “bedroom” which more resembles Harry Potters living conditions with his aunt and uncle. In the bathroom, there is 1 shower with a glass door, a urinal that didn’t flush, and finally smoke detectors that had been ripped from the ceiling. Uncle John was very creepy the entire time. When we came back from sightseeing there was a couple in our cabin which was fine, since they moved their things. Until they started fighting and dragging us into the middle. It escalated to the point that we locked ourselves in the bathroom, when we got back to the cabin we couldn’t get to sleep until 3am out of fear. In the morning we were only refunded for the next night and not the night before. If you are looking for a terrible experience I highly recommend uncle johns campground.

I would love to give this place zero stars but sadly i cant save your money and go elsewhere this place is not worth it it’s filthy you have to pay for any extra hookups when they should be included with the price. we stayed in cabin 4 and they had us clean the place because it was so dirty from the black mold in the fridge to the stains and overall dirty place. For some reason everyone loves uncle john but i found him to be very creepy with weird stories showing off his money yet all his places aren’t cleaned. He also gave us all random names which some found humorous but i did not. We left and came back to random people in our cabin because they got the wrong number which is a okay misunderstanding but all night the couple beside us fought and brought us in the middle of their argument. Overall it’s dirty, weird, creepy and bad owners. If that’s what your into go for it, but definitely not for us.

My wife and have been staying at Uncle John’s for over 5 years during steelhead seasons, spring and fall, John and Patty are the most welcoming of hosts and will do anything they can to make your stay comfortable, we stay in our own travel trailer so we do not have personal experience staying in the cabins, that being said we have talked to, conversed with, and fished with multiple people that did and can say that we heard no complaints about the cabins nor the staff, We will be back up again this season and look forward to staying.
