We tent camped at Ute Campground in June and it was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, and just the right kind of cool at night that makes you feel like a seasoned wilderness pro (even if you’re still figuring out how to roll up a sleeping bag). The sites are perfectly spaced out in the trees, so you get a nice little pocket of shade and privacy…no awkward “oops, I can see into their tent” moments. It was a joy just to walk around the grounds, spotting deer like we were in a Disney movie, and colorful birds that looked like they flew out of a postcard. Now let’s talk about the real star: the campground host’s dog, Bandit. Absolute legend. The sweetest little mug you ever did see. I can’t remember the host’s name (she was lovely and helpful and probably a forest angel), but Bandit made such an impression I would name my next pet after him. If you want nature, quiet, beauty, and the chance to fall in love with a dog named Bandit, this is your place. I’d 100% stay here again…and next time, I’m bringing treats for Bandit. Sorry, I forgot to get photos of the site. I was just obsessing over that little mug! Oh, I almost forgot the restrooms were spotless!

Well maintained . Clean bathroom (vault toilet). Super nice camp host. Only 4 stars because of traffic noise.

Great campground close the Pagosa Hit Springs and Durango, Colorado. We had fun and would certainly return!

We stayed here in May of 2023. We were passing through and needed a place to camp for the night. It was very peaceful and we would stay here again. Stayed here again in September 2024. Got a different site which was a good one too. The toilets had been upgraded since our last stay to nicer ones. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Nicely laid out campground with plenty of privacy between spaces. Each spot has a table and fire ring and some also have a charcoal grill. Sites are fairly level some more than others. Plenty of room for all size rigs. Nice tent areas at most sites also. Restrooms were clean and kept up, one towards the front of the CG and the other towards the rear. There is good water but only one faucet near the hosts camper. Mike, the host was great. Gave me a quick brief of the CG and he also has wood for your fires at a reasonable price. Cell service is lacking but I found that if I hiked the small hill behind my spot I could make calls and sent texts through T Mobile. Very quiet with no real road noise noticeable. Most are reserve sites but I think about 8 are first come first served, which is nice. I was there last week in Aug on a Monday and there was only one other camper so that time of year probably no problem finding a space without reservations. Overall a great CG.

I came across this campground while making my way to kanab Utah as a cross-country bicyclist. This campground was closed to motorized vehicles at the time due to seasonal closing. But was open to non motorized vehicles. I had a wonderful time and it was a beautiful campground and would highly recommend it to anyone during high season or Open season.

Paid $18 for the stay overall. Nice and quiet area with not a lot of people, the bathrooms are just a basic toilet with no running water. Though there are bear signs around, we didn’t have any bear interactions while at the campsite. Nicely shaded area with absolutely no bugs when we went. We camped in a tent, and the campsites were spaced out very well.

Very nice, basic campground. The toilet was clean, and there's a water faucet. Beautiful area.

Nice Campground, quiet, lots of good sites. Don't drink the water. Bad sulfur smell and taste.
