Very budget friendly place to rest your eyes for a few hours to refuel for all of the other adventures you’re going to be experiencing while in Valdez! There is a glacier park very close that you can go see, the proximity is amazing! The campground is a little outside of Valdez proper, but it’s a pretty short drive. Showers and bathrooms on premises, which could be maintained a bit better, but you get exactly what you pay for. By all means not a bad place. They even let you drink beers here!

They have reservable RV sites for non military personnel. The one we reserved had power but no water at the site. We were there for 2 days and never saw a host. Sites are tucked away and have trees around them . There are 4 private stall showers that are shockingly basic but do have hot water, rarely had toilet paper and are not cleaned regularly.

Normally stay at a campsite or RV site here however, our guest are not outdoorsy people therefore booked a cabin. It was clean and the mattresses weren’t too bad, if you plan on being in the cabin, bring some chairs. There are several outlets and had two forms of heating.

We stayed in a cabin - it was great!!! Perfect for our short weekend there!! The 4 cabins are Military or disabled veterans only. The campground does have 80 first come first serve camping spots. We saw 4 showers, and several toilets around the whole campground. I will definitely be back!!!!

Love the sites! They are very tucked away and private! It’s cute, it’s quiet, and the camp host is very kind. The first come first serve sites have no hook ups but the campgrounds offer water, dump stations, showers and restrooms. It’s also only six minutes from Glacier View Park. We will definitely come back here!

We ended up leaving and went to RV park downtown with full service, clean showers/bathrooms and WiFi for $20 more/night. Unfortunately MWR wouldn’t refund the unused night even though the park seemed to be at less than 40% capacity so note the cancellation policy. Also No cell service here. RV spots were too small, and very overgrown with brush, so if you don’t need electric, I’d suggest getting a “tent” spot which were much bigger, less overgrown, and still allowed plenty of room to park your rig. Lots of bugs, bring spray. No toilet paper in bathrooms. Has potable water hose to fill up RV and a RV sewage dump which was helpful.

Rented an electric site for the travel trailer for 4 nights and loved this facility. There is thick foliage between sites that offer privacy. Sites are level and gravel. There are vault toilets throughout and a shower house with 4 individual shower/toilet stalls that were well stocked and had hot water. We’ll be back for sure!

Worst campground in Alaska. Have been using pit toilets the entire stay in Alaska. None have gagged me to such a nauseating level. The lid on one falls back on you. The bathroo.s with running water has no toilet paper also. Sinks clogged with hair. Floors filthy. Trash overflowing with a roll of trash bags sitting on a bench outside like we are supposed to empty the trash. Music and partying after 11 pm. Do not stay here.

This was a great place to stay overnight! We came into town last minute and were grateful to find open spots here at Valdez Glacier Campground. Be aware that it is first come, first serve. You show up, drive around the park, and if there's an open space that doesn't have an "occupied" tag on the lot post number, you can take that spot. I believe you get the occupied tag from the office building. You can pay at the big yellow sign that to the right when you come in. They take cash or check according to their papers. I have posted their price sheet as of July 2024. The sites are nice and secluded and woodsy. There is a waterfall along the main driveway in and showers as well as rv water. Would definitely recommend.

I spent two nights with Electric and one with dry camping and it was a nice quiet place, removed from town with shade and woods all around. For the most part, it’s very well kept except I did see small bits of trash in both campsites, very minor little pieces of foil or paper, and it didn’t look like anyone goes through to clean up. Although I am the one that cleans up after myself, I should’ve picked up these pieces. I just wish other people had some respect leaving things the way they should be. There is a dumpsite and very nice showers. I would recommend this as a location. It’s also very close to Valdez Glacier just down the road.

Beautiful campground, right down the road from Valdez Glacier and 7 minutes from downtown. We will be staying here for all future trips.

Lots of bathrooms, nicer restrooms with showers at the entrance. The camp sites are nice and spaced out.

We really enjoyed our stay at the campground! It was clean and fairly quiet, and the tent site was larger than expected. The outhouse closest to us were not not well maintained however. We would definitely stay there again.
