Summer camp for old people!!! Can't think of an improvement for this place unless they made it free

Very much enjoying our stay here, even after 3 months. Feels so safe and comfortable. So very much to do if so inclined.

We came to Vall de Oro on February to escape the cold weather in Reno NV. This park is run by Cal AM Resorts and is our 3rd time at one of their resorts. This is an RV Resort for 55 and over folks. The place is huge as they have approximately 1600 spots. This park has RV spots as well as park models so feels more like camping in the suburbs. The resort is well maintained and there are lots of things to do. They have large pool and spa, pickle ball and tennis courts, a baseball field, ball room, and many hobby and craft rooms. They bring in entertainment and have live music most nights by the pool. There are also horseshoe pits and Bocci ball courts. They hold RC car races and have a huge model train track that they run. If you are bored here it is your fault. The RV spots are quite large but they do not provide picnic tables or fire rings. Every site has full hookups with 50 amp service but be aware the hookups are at the very back of the spot. They do provide wifi and it is fairly good throughput the park but we were in spot 1773 and our wifi was very spotty at times. If you stay here for a month or more they charge you separately for trash, sewer and electricity. They also do not take credit cards so be prepared to pay for things with cash or check. One other thing to know is this park located right next to the 60 and 202 interchange so there is always freeway noise. You also get noise from Ellsworth and Southern that run alongside the park. Basically the park us surrounded by busy roads. The park is dog friendly and they have 7 dog parks. They do ban dogs from around the clubhouse areas and 2 streets back from same so be aware of this. We plan to stay here again.

It was hard to make "connections" with people. Too large for me. But beautiful facility.

Great adult oriented RV Park. So many things to do here, no matter if your looking for physical or artistic activities. Plenty of entertainment, from the happy hours to Saturday night dances always have LIVE entertainment with a variety of musical styles. There is also a concert series to enjoy, although some shows are geared for quite an older crowd. This RV resort is very well suited to those that are very social! You will meet many people from far and wide with amazing stories to tell. UPDATE: The feel of the resort has changed significantly in the last 3-4 years. Rules and policy's have been changing resulting in an increased dissatisfaction of the long term residents, but as long as new people continue to want to come here and they don't know how park policies will continue eroding our previously enjoyed lifestyle.

Beautiful people and community. Environment of happiness, connectedness, and good times amongst its residents. “No Bad Days at VDO”

Visited this park in hopes of purchasing a park model for year round home site. But having to pay lot rent of 8700 up front each year along with possible annual increases wasn't ideal but not a deal breaker. Our deal breaker is that this park resort is not as "pet friendly" as they need to be for us. They have a 2 pet limit along with possible size restrictions and definitely breed restrictions. but that's not too bad as we met those with our pets, the real problem is the ,"pet designated" rental lot spaces, including pet "premium" spaces are way too small. Especially if you have an older dog that needs to go immediately once they get outside. They won't be able to. Those poor animals are going to be using the street or walking area around your or another person's lot unless you run them to the nearest "dog area" again not big enough for large dog breeds. Tenants are not allowed to use fencing of any kind on their lots IF they had any space to fence in because even the larger pet designated premium "wall lots" are only about a 12x15 room. This park resort does not provide any type of overflow parking for additional vehicles you may own. We have three and need parking for each, along with the ability to rent additional storage parking for our RV when we aren't in travel. Now I must be fair in this review, this park resort is like being on vacation everyday! The other amenities for entertainment are fantastic! Concerts, movies, dinners, outdoor activities, pools, jacuzzis etc. All great. I regret that because of their small lots and no fencing rule along with parking limits we can't consider them as a permanent home for year round tenancy. But vacationers with two small pets, willing to pay lot rent daily, weekly, or monthly are in great shape and will enjoy being in this park.
