Absolutely — here’s the harsher, still-humorous version: ⸻ ⭐ Luxury? Try Lugubrious. I booked this place because their website flaunted a sparkling, resort-style pool and promised luxury camping. What I got was a health-code violation with electrical cords floating in swamp water. The first photo is what they advertised. The rest? That’s what I walked into — a post-apocalyptic kiddie pool where dreams (and probably frogs) go to die. Calling this place “luxury” is like calling a gas station hot dog fine dining. Staff is decent enough,‘and this place has promise. Nice setting with good views and some amenities that could be nice. The picnic area? A scene from a backyard abandonment. A cat litter box sat proudly next to the table like some kind of budget end-table. If you’re into that gritty, feral aesthetic, you’ll love it here. Also — don’t bother asking the staff what’s going on. You’ll get the same energy as a shrug emoji wearing sunglasses. Bottom line: this place catfished me so hard I need therapy. Do better. Or at least drain the algae pit.

We were here 3 years ago, and the park was immaculate. Well. …. it’s not anymore. Apparently there is a new owner(s) and things have really gone downhill. The few staff that are working are very nice and helpful, and have gone out of their way to make sure we are comfortable with our site. It’s really a shame; we love this area for the Harley riding and the location is great, but we will be finding another place to stay next year. 😔

From the photos, you think you'll be staying in a really nice 'resort,' but au contraire! The 'lake' is a mere pond that is only moderately pretty on one end. The traffic noise is annoying and not relaxing. We had high hopes that this would live up to the pictures and description, but we were sadly disappointed. They have Wifi but come to find out it doesn't work with smart TVs, so that was yet another misleading advertisement. They also state on their site that the pool is open in the spring. We were up there shortly after the first day of spring and there wasn't even water in the pool. The view toward the back of the campground is hideous and that's where the pond is less than attractive as well. The only plus I could see in booking here is the proximity to the casino. Save your money and go to the KOA in Murphy... you won't be disappointed.

Spent a long weekend here while in town for a cycling event. The resort is near several WNC towns, each with plenty to offer. Apparently, there is a casino across the highway. For a this type resort the sites are fairly spacious, but there is absolutely no shade for the middle row of sites. Scenic Little lake on one side of the park. Nice pool (very welcome after spending hours on a bicycle in the heat!!). The bathrooms near the pool could stand a good airing out as they are a tad musty. Very friendly staff - called to find out when they might expect us, and they had all the paperwork ready when we walked in the door. For those who like this type of resort you will enjoy this place. We are state park campers and prefer spacious sites with shade.

This was a great RV campground. The spaces are all concrete and Level. The bathrooms were very clean and had wonderful water pressure! The pool was beautiful and the grounds are well kept. Quick drive to Murphy for shopping and necessities. Worked out well for us
