Called about 1 1/2 hours before we were going to arrive and asked if they had anything available for our set up. After telling Tim what we had he said “you’re gonna take spot #2, easy in and out”. Said we could pay at the museum the next day, at the drop box or we could call when we left with a credit card. Very nice and easy going. Spot was also very clean, great for a last minute place to park with all amenities.

This is the most laid back easy going RV park we have ever stayed in. Asked when check-in time was. Answer when you get here. When is the checkout time? Answer 11, 13, whenever you're ready to go. The sites are large, level, and spaced well apart. It is an easy 5 minute walk to the Billy the Kid Museum (and park office) The Museum is definitely worth seeing. I would say this is a great value at $30 for the Rv park and $8 each for the museum.

Nice Overnite. Easy in and out. Nice long pull thru will accommodate at least 65 ft. $30 cash. I recommended calling ahead I think they have maybe 5 overnight sites. Must see Billy the kid museum. $5 adult $4 for seniors.

We lucked out in finding an opening in March. Some road noise and occasional trains, but it was clean and quiet. The amazing part was that we inadvertently left our surge protector on the post - we called the Museum (they own both) and the owner had it on his desk. He was kind enough to mail it out to us at home since we were already 500 miles away. We are forever grateful for his making our oversight an easy fix. Good people.

This is a very basic campground with no bathrooms, showers or laundry. We stayed in pull through full hookup site #24. It was level and comfortable. During setup we noticed several issues with the electrical post. I called the museum and a kind gentleman named Tom stopped by the next morning. He replaced both the 20 amp and 50 amp breakers in about half an hour. Tom was a very nice man and I enjoyed chatting with him. Great service! Free wifi worked at the site and it was blazing fast. My AT&T phone had 3 bars and my wife's Verizon phone had 4 bars. Road traffic was loud but our white noise CD mostly blocked it out at night. All things considered this was a great deal at only $20.00 per day. Dave's Grocery down the street is above average for a small town. Good prices and they also have fresh fruits and vegetables. Don't miss the Fort Sumner Historic Site. Excellent museum with interactive exhibits that will literally bring you to tears!

Very clean and well maintained and a real bargain for FHU. Very large level sites. However, no restrooms, laundry, tv or office. They have adequate WiFi however. Great place to spend the night but make reservations. Most sites are occupied by permanent renters. Register at the Billy the Kid Museum, 1 block east.

Nothing glamorous. $20 rate. Full hookups and a very easy in and out. The museum owners also own the park, so you pay at the museum. The Billy the Kid museum is a must see! Only down side is the train rumble in the background.
