WaKeeney KOA Journey
Wakeeney KOA "The place to stay on your way"
Greetings from Layton and Sheri!! We are the new owners of the WaKeeney KOA. We want to welcome you to our home on the high plains of Kansas. We are located midway between Denver and Kansas City, with easy access to and from I-70. RV sites are spacious pull thru sites to accommodate RVs of all types and sizes and do not require you to unhook. RV sites include access to 50/30 amp electric, water, sewer, cable TV and grass to relax on. Grass tent sites are large and private, with access to electricity and water nearby. Cabins are available for those who want to camp without an RV or tent, and are located near the restroom and shower facilities. Riding your motorcycle? Come stay in a cabin or pitch a tent for the night. The restrooms, showers, and laundry room facilities are open 24 hours for your convenience. Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the park. Take your pet for a walk around the open space before relaxing to the sounds of the resident songbirds while enjoying a beautiful, peaceful sunset. During the summer months, the swimming pool is always refreshing after a long day on the open road. An old-fashioned ice cream social, complete with root beer floats, is offered during the summer months every evening. If you like to golf, stay an extra day and play at Big Creek Golf Course only a mile away. Our goal is to make your stay a pleasant one to remember.

Passing through! Great spot right off 70w. We had an other stay booked but after see that so many of the roads are dirt, we did not want to travel to far away from 70w. Dog park was clean. Spots were spacious. Bathrooms were SUPER CLEAN and even smelled wonderful. Host was so welcoming even at 5min to closing. Would stay again!

We had a GREAT STAY in a Kamping Kabin at the WaKeeney KOA! The Kabin was comfortable and cozy, the restrooms were modern and spotless and the grounds were immaculate. The price was great with our KOA Membership Discount compared to a hotel room. The owner, Sheri, was super nice and I highly recommend staying with them when you are in the area!

This campground is awesome. We had truck trouble and was there hor 6 nights. The office manager was wonderful. She was so nice. Campground is meticulously kept clean. They have a nice laundry room and a great pool to cool you off. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was a gem. The only reason we didn’t give it a 5 star was because of the lack of trees. Great lace for a quick stop over, staff is very friendly, sites are level and clean. The dog park was perfect and also clean. We didn’t end up using the pool, as there was quite a few people there. Very quiet and even though next to the highway, little road noise.

An easy stop off of i70, it was in a lovely location in the Kansas prairie. The staff was friendly. We stayed in the tent sites for a few nights and they gave us a very nice spot. It seemed they would give out the best spots first. But there really wasn't a bad spot. The pool is the highlight and they take pride in making sure it is clean every day. I saw they really took pride in making sure this location was clean. I will say we travelled in July and the winds are heavy! I do not know what it is like in an RV, but in the tents it was a bit wild, but everything was intact.
