We stayed at Wallace State Park for ten days, and honestly, it’s one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Everything, from the bathrooms to the trails, was spotless and beautifully maintained. The hosts were as good as gold. They went above and beyond and even let us charge our solar battery bank, which was an absolute lifesaver during our stay. We spent our days fishing, having picnics, and exploring the trails. They even hosted a Trunk-or-Treat event while we were there and hid pumpkins throughout the woods for kids to find, such a thoughtful and fun touch. I also heard they do a big Easter event every year, which we’ll definitely be coming back to experience! One of the highlights was getting to see Bill and his incredible live owl demonstration. We met a barn owl, a barred owl, a screech owl, and a great horned owl, and Bill’s kindness and passion made it unforgettable. It felt like something out of a nature documentary, but even better because it was real and right in front of us. The atmosphere here is top-notch, peaceful, safe, and full of good energy. Even the water from the tap tasted amazing. It’s clear this park is cared for with pride and heart. After visiting dozens of parks, I can say this one stands out as a true gem. It’s the kind of place that leaves you feeling grateful, grounded, and already planning your next trip back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely five stars. Wallace State Park is what every state park should aspire to be.

Second time camping here and both were absolutely good time. Restroom and shower are kept clean. Firewoods are sold for $5 for bundle with payment option of cash and card. Campgrounds are well kept and many hiking trails available. They also added portable potty shed in campground 1 near site 20.

Beautiful, clean, quiet, close enough to Kansas City to be out of town, but nearby... The showers have actual hot water, which is amazing. Hosts and staff are kind and helpful. Several gorgeous trails, and several playgrounds for children. Lots of wildlife. Most of the camp sites around the edges of each camp loop are heavily shaded, and somewhat secluded. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. There's also a great day use area, and the gates are coded at night for only registered campers to be able to enter after the day use area closes.

We were looking for a quick get away for the weekend and found Wallace State Park. Very easy to get to from Kansas City. The reviews were really good for a lot of good reasons. The camp ground was very clean. We have a squaredrop trailer so we parked in Campground 1 in a pull through spot. The park is heavily treed so we felt some privacy and the spot was in perfect condition. We had our gravel bikes and hit some of the back roads which turned out to be very hilly. Afterward, we showered...really nice facilities for that. We hiked on our last day on Deer Run. It was described as rugged but maybe we missed that part of the trail. It was a nice trail (good hill at the start) and we managed a quick 3 miles. Also, the hosts were very nice and helpful. We'll definitely be going back.
