Walter F George - COE/Hardridge Creek
Walter F. George Coe Hardridge Creek is a historic site located in Abbeville, Alabama. The site is the location of a former grist mill, which was built in the early 1800s by Walter F. George Coe. The mill was used to grind corn and wheat for local farmers and was powered by the nearby Hardridge Creek. The mill was in operation until the early 1900s, when it was abandoned. The site is now a popular spot for fishing, picnicking, and exploring the local history.

I have always seen so many great reviews on hardridge creek. But honestly I haven’t been impressed. We have wanted to stay here for a long time finally booked it. I wanted to like it here . But I have been miserable . To be completely honest it is the last weekend before they close up for winter. So many campsites empty and not many people are here. Pros- quiet not a lot of noisy people keeping me up all night Friendly people working here We were able to have visitors Cons-small boatramp compared to other campgrounds BUGS everywhere constantly Have the worst Argentine ants I have ever seen. Kept getting in the camper no matter what we did to try to get rid of them . Spent all night with ants crawling on me every night . Was miserable hated it ants in the beds and crawling up side of the camper it ruined our weekend Also campsites are so close together you can hardly get in and out without bumping the neighbor

Clean, beautiful campground. Great view of lake. Larry is very friendly, he gave us lots of information. We will definitely be making reservations to stay in near further.

Peaceful, serene location. Level sites with picnic tables, fire pits, and large gravel area. Some areas have fabulous water access especially Pirate's Cove. Lake View has a nice beach. Shady Loop is aptly named, no water views. Good laundry room with a folding table, and hooks for hanging. Only negative is there is only one washer and dryer.
