I wanted to tour Washington d.c. This place is like 50 minutes away from the capital. We had to cancel plans on seeing the capital because it was far away by motorcycle. My wife didnt want to go that far being she's 61 and less robust than myself and being that it's Nov1 getting colder. We went to a mall that was closer. Really nice mall like 20 minutes away. The staff at the desk were super nice and gave me a ride to my RV when I bought firewood.

We’ve stayed at this KOA for the last five years or so when attending Ren Fest, and it’s always been a reliable choice. Like most KOAs, the facilities are clean, well-maintained, and the service is consistently solid. We especially appreciate the cabin layout — close enough to the restrooms and showers to be convenient, but still spaced in a way that gives you some privacy and a bit of quiet. It strikes a nice balance between comfort and that “camping getaway” feel. Overall, you really can’t go wrong staying here. It’s become part of our Ren Fest tradition, and we’re happy to keep returning.

45 to an hour from D/C. Doesn't seem to have a camp host on site - at least 2 nights cabin renters played music late into the night loud enough to hear inside my RV - had a cabin camper blocking my exit - called left a message did not get a call back - an hour later I stopped an employee and asked him to ask the campers to move their car. I don't think I'll be back. Staff were very nice and friendly. Campground was a bit worn especially where we were.

This is a quite family friendly campground. There is a little noise from the interstate but could not hear anything when inside the camper. The bathrooms were clean. The pool looked clean and there was a lot of people swimming but we did not use it. The store appeared well stocked. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice park. Friendly staff and excellent facilities. The park is an oasis In a very populated area. Bathrooms and showers were spacious and clean as was the pool. We stayed there to visit Six Flags and if the amusement park wasn't closing, we'd probably be staying at Capitol KOA annually. But we will be back if we ever find ourselves in the area.

I would not recommend staying at this KOA. We had some problems from the start. We got there after the office closed and we went to go to our site that they told us we would be at and there was another camper already there. The management had no idea that they did not check out in the morning. We took another campsite after waiting a while for them to try resolving the issue. This site had standing water in the site. The sites are very small and some nights our neighbors slide out would be on our camping area because the site was that small. Management did not seem like they knew what was going on and didn’t tell us that we needed to register our vehicle for two days. We got wood a couple times from the office and each time was a different price on the wood. They had postings on the bathroom that they were closed 1030-12 for cleaning. There were multiple mornings that the cleaning crew was rushing us out of the bathroom before 10 so they could clean it. We were trying to shower the last morning before we left and they rushed my son out of the bathroom at 950 telling him they need to clean it. Then I went to go use the shower she told me I couldn’t go in there until she was done and it was 1000 and made my daughter get out even though she wasn’t even done getting dressed. This is only an okay site if you do not plan to spend any time at the campground.

It was good enough for what we needed. It was off season and we were happy to get a place to stay. Our spot wasn’t great due to the size of our rig and the spot was up an incline then we had to go back and forth to find most level spot. Other spots much more level but in all fairness we might have asked for this spot not realizing how it was in real life. Easy to get to in snd out. No narrow barriers. You can unhook right outside check in office. I’d definitely stay again.

We received a warm welcome from the staff. Our site is gravel and level with shade. It's a pull-thru with full hook-up. Being so early in the season the pool is closed. They have a big laundry, though some of the washers need maintenance. We like the wooded area around the park and the trails. It's great for walking out kitty.

They added a few more cabins since I was here last. This place is located in a central location to Washington DC, Baltimore MD and Annapolis, MD. They have a shuttle that will take you all the way to downtown DC and pick you up in the afternoon. They have nice campground with a great shower and bathroom. They have free ice cream on saturday nights when it is hot and smores when it is cold. They have a wooded section that is nice for tents and popups and nice pull thru for big rigs. They have a small Dog Park that is fenced in too. They are very liberal about the use of carpets and they have fire rings too. The only thing is that they have some weak power from time to time when it gets really hot. I have an auto former and have no issues but yesterday it was down to 108 and if it went down a couple more volts, my EMS would shut the power off. I am at the end of the row though so I think that makes a difference as well as the power company if they drop the voltage to get more power for the area. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
